There's a Bomb Scare at Grand Central right now - |
|
Probably nothing, but lots of activity. So, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Bloomberg for doing NOTHING to increase security in the NY subway system. In response to criticism from Senator Clinton, MTA announced that they are still "working on a plan" for enhancing subway safety. A plan? It's four years since 9/11. Still working on a plan?!?! http://www.nynewsday.com/news/local/manhattan/ny-bc-ny--clinton-subwaycam0712jul12,0,4260027.story?coll=nyc-homepage-breakingheadlines

3. Yes! He's been working very hard to get the city to pay for a stadium |
|
so the Jets owner can have bigger, snazzier corporate boxes. Sadly for Bloomie, that plan failed. He literally wept in his presser in discussing it. Meanwhile the WTC site languishes, an open wound, a gaping scar, while Bloomie focuses his attention where it will do his corporate pals some $good$.

The bomb scare is reported by me, first hand. I'm in midtown now.

I heard that HS is going to release some gas to see how it would spread in a terra attack.

...but someone posted an article earlier about how the two people who had worked a year and a half on a plan to ramp up NY transit security were fired before the plan was implemented for blowing the whistle on their corrupt and incompetant bosses. A little googling should find you it (include the term "national guard").
