IF Rove knew she was covert, if the CIA was trying to hide her covert status (and just being classified by the CIA as covert in and of itself is evidence that the CIA was trying to keep her role secret), if she had overseas duty in the last five years, and if Rove purposely identified her and exposed her covert status (in the statute, the actual name is NOT required to identify her, and he DID identify her), whether or not he purposely exposed her covert status as a PRIMARY goal of hurting our nation's interests, or as a purposful, but reluctant, SECONDARY goal in an effort to trash her husband, he would still be breaking the law.

All that matters is that he did it on purpose, not WHY he did it on purpose.

This is FACT, and totally destroys the main GOP talking point, the nonsense about his motive for exposing her. They are saying that he did not expose her as a primary goal, only as a secondary goal of casting doubt on the motives of her husband. It doesn't matter.
