From the moment the Karl Rove story exploded over the weekend, I've been intensely curious as to what tack the conservatives would take.

This is a big political embarrassment, no question about it, and while Scott McClellan could try the old can't-comment-during-the-investigation (though he had earlier denied any Rove involvement during the same investigation), what would the denizens of the right do?

I tuned into O'Reilly and Hannity on Monday night, but there was no mention, none, of the Rove/Plame affair. Imagine if an e-mail had surfaced showing that a top aide to Clinton--say, Sid Blumenthal--had told a reporter about a covert CIA agent. Would those Fox shows have given the controversy a bit of air time? (Last night, O'Reilly said "some in the media are foaming" over the story but did call on Rove to "clear the air," then hosted Newt Gingrich, who attacked Joe Wilson. Hannity said Rove "wasn't on a witchhunt" because Matt Cooper called him , and guest G. Gordon Liddy ripped Cooper and said Valerie Plame wasn't really undercover. At least the show had a liberal guest, Bill Press, who got overheated in accusing Rove of "treason" and saying he "should be marched off to prison." No trial, Bill?)

While the White House remains in lockdown mode over Rove, my first clue to the GOP defense came in a statement from RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman...

So the response is that 1) the Dems are playing politics (and Rove wasn't, in dragging in Mrs. Joe Wilson?). And 2) Rove was just performing a public service by steering a reporter away from a false story (actually, Wilson was right about the bogus Niger uranium tale, and the White House was wrong)....

1. What a sickness on the so-called right.

Newt Gingrich practically invented the horrible political climate that is poisoning America today.

G. Gordon Liddy should have been hanged for treason decades ago.

Ken Mehlman is one of the most skillful liars in Washington today.

And Bill O'Reilly simply lacks the ability to reason. I'd be amazed if he could microwave a burrito without a team of helpers.

Others keep showing up too. Oliver North, who deserved a gibbet of his own. Michelle Malkin, the schizoid Asian woman who is a cheerleader for rounding up... Asian citizens. The pill-poppers. The killers in the name of christ. The fetus-worshippers. The list goes on and on.

It's mind-boggling,it really is. It reads like a patient list for a mental institution, or perhaps a list of convicts at a prison for the criminally insane.

And they are THIS CLOSE to destroying America forever and all time.

2. Count Whorrie As Having His Ass Covered...

Yep, keeping that critical eye on the media, old Whorrie is.

He's playing judge on the people he goes to drinkie-drinkie parties with? Biting the hand that feeds him? What would his Repugnican consultant wife think about that (maybe I should think paranthetically).

Whorrie fails to mention on his TV treehouse Sunday morning, he downplayed the Rove story as well and had two right wing shills on there spouting talking points uncontested...the same crap he's trying to call others on.

He calls himself a critic, my dictionary defines it as hypocritic.

4. He's Bad Trash That Needs To Be Cleaned Out

DMD...First things first...let's let this regime's lies and hubris be its own downfall. And if it means using a tool like Kurtz, so be it...the sooner this regime collapses the better it is for humanity.

However, once the worm is turned and the question goes to who enabled and abeted this regime, Kurtz stand his share of accountability. This fence-straddling shit won't wash here.
