Time Reporter Shows Up in Federal Court
By PETE YOST, Associated Press Writer

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

(07-13) 06:55 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) --

Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper, a key figure in the Karl Rove controversy, showed up at U.S. District Court on Wednesday. The grand jury investigating the leak was meeting, and it was expected Cooper would testify. He did not comment while entering the courthouse.

Meanwhile, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush are standing by Rove, whose role in the leak of an undercover CIA officer's identity has prompted Democrats to call for dismissal of the president's top political adviser.

snip...
Mrs. Bush, talking to reporters while traveling in Africa on Wednesday, called Rove "a very good friend" whom the Bushes have known for many years.

"It would be irresponsible for me to speculate on any of it," she said, "so I think I'll leave the speculation to you all and I'll leave the investigation" to the prosecutor.

2. Impossible to speculate
The guy's office is like a few doors down, Mr. President. Maybe you could go down and ask him exactly what happened. And if he refuses to answer or admits his crime maybe you could fire his ass the way you promised to do!

3. How much you want to bet...
that these people, Bush and Laura, have decided that the end justifies the means? And they know their voters will back them up because homegrown Americans in Red states will not see what's wrong with undermining every rule in the book to protect their God-fearing way of life. They don't see the immense irony, that the machinations they used to achieve their purpose, makes them the very kind of Americans they fear most. The immoral, law-breaking, unAmerican kind.

5. "Standing by Rove"??? AP is dreaming again
Calling him a "good friend" is considered "standing by him". Gotta call AP out on this one...

6. Laura Says Karl Rove Is A Very Good Friend........
They also said the same thing about good ol' Kenny 'Boy' Lay from Enron who miraculously has still avoided prosecution and jail. Anybody see a pattern developing here??????
