Nothing is going happen to Rove
I hate to say that but those assholes have gotten away with EVERYTHING thus far and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Please somebody - prove me wrong!

3. Rove wanted payback and he got it
Let us not forget he told Chris Matthews that Wilson's wife was fair game. She was not, she worked as a NOC and when she went on missions, she went alone, no backup, she could of been killed. This is what she gets for her efforts and Joe Wilson has a stunning reputation and resume, that is why Rove could not get anything on him but his wife's identity......

Rove's mistake was misjudging one of the pee-ons. He thinks we are all expendable and slander worthy. This particular slander blew up in his face and the administration is culpable as long as he is in the White House...

4. I don't think so...
I think Fitzgerald is going to hand up an indictment, and * will have to cut him loose.

Whether he does any time at gitmo or not is debateable.

9. I think he will get the Indictment
And I think Bush will cut him lose - he might well be more valuable to them as a martyer to the cause at this point.

That said, he probably won't actually do any time.

28. Nahh...he'll get indicted, but then * will smirk and say, "In this country
we have a little thing called (lean forward) presumptous of incense (smirk proudly). I have the greatest faith (wink) that my friend, and Laura's, Karl Rove, will be acquittalled of all (pause, wait for earpiece to kick in) charges."

15. I'm beginning to wonder if fitz will be able to nail Rove with
a treason charge, too. The argument could be made, and it's possible that the big charge may actually be treason.

Remember, we have not been made privy to the actual nature of her work on WMD/terrorism and it's quite possible that Rove deliberately undercut our ability to stop a WMD attack by terrorists with his political gamesmanship.

19. That is what I'm hoping for, but I don't think Bush will fire him.
Bush would still be spending Daddy's friends money to run businesses into the ground if it hadn't been for Rove. Bush won't cut him loose.

Hopefully, we can hang Bush failing to do what he said he would do re leaks around his neck and use it against the Republicans in 2006 (it fits the "culture of corruption" theme).

Junior will pardon him posthaste. And as for being cut loose, Rove actually might run the GOP more easily (and certainly with less oversight) from outside the WH.

6. There's a difference this time
A grand jury and a special prosecutor.

If Simply Scotty wasn't acting so scared I'd agree with you. At the very least this will do major damage to the public's view of BushCo and the GOP.

7. Right.
unfortunately.

Rove sells LIES that cost people lives - this is what he does for a living, it is why he was hired by the people who recruited Bush, to get the Oil. Cheney was Project Manager on Iraq; he's fulfilled his function. He's the most likely to bail out, for health reasons. They need Rove's prevarication too much. He'll stay, then Rove will be given whatever he wants after 2008.

8. I can't promise
but Fitzgerald does seem to be doing his job. Last night on Lou Dobbs John Dean states that the two things that seem to be concerning KKKarl's lawyers is:
DEAN: I -- we can't tell on the facts we have alone, whether we have a law that's been violated or which laws have been violated. The attention is focused on the CIA Identities Protection Act and that hasn't really been my concern.

I don't -- I think probably the lawyers involved in this case are looking at the other potential concerns. You take the prima facie facts we have and this could very well be a couple statutes that are involved with Mr. Rove.

He could be, well, converting government information to his own political uses and putting it out, and that is a violation of the law. It could be the statute that got a lot of those of us involved in Watergate, which is if he is conspiring with others to do what he's not being paid as a government employee to do, which it would be in this instance, to leak information for political purposes. That in turn, could be a violation as well.

DOBBS: Effectively, fraud and conspiracy.

DEAN: Yes.

10. One trick pony has a bum leg. They're done.
I read a post about Fitzgerald doing a special stint investigating bogus Muslim charities who funded the bin squattin. He did a big raid (in No. VA) and when the Feds got there all the evidence was destroyed. The article said that he was furious and that Tenet has since tipped him off that a person in the WH gave the groups the heads up because they apparently were connected with contributions to the * campaign. This was on KOS but derivative of several news reports.

This is a grudge match. This is about national security. This is about a huge faction of "management" (you know, "them") being fed up with all the bull shit.

They're going down, I'll bet you (friendly bet, loser provides winner gratuitous support of one of winners threads despite the quality)

11. Pukes never suffer the consequences of their actions.
That is why they keep doing the evil that they do. Until someone starts to bring their actions back to them, they will never stop.

That is a simple lesson that people learn in childhood. It seems like they have revoked Newton's 3rd Law (for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction). Science, like other forms of truth, just do not matter to this bunch.

this isn't some rumor.

The info we have been getting is vastly less info than what the court already has. Much of it is secret...

Assuming the worst may make you feel better if something doesn't happen, but I think it is safe to hope for the best!

14. It's going to be very difficult to find out what will happen to Rove
because of the nature of the investigation (grand jury). Fitzgerald is not a leaker the way Starr was.

There is a possibility that Rove will get in criminal trouble for committing perjury, if he told the investigators that he did not disclose to the media that Joe Wilson's wife worked for CIA, because he most definitely did do that.

16. I disagree. This time they made THE critical mistake.
They pissed off the press. Even the eunuchs in the WH press corps get ticked off when they are lied to. The administration has played the press for fools, it's now a matter of record, and they're not going to let this go. Someone has to pay, and as I said in another thread, the smart money is pouring in on a pudgy little pig-fucker named Rove.

Come on people, this is HUGE. Imagine if Clinton had not beem smeared for a private indescretion, his presidency would have so few negatives that the conservative outrage against him would have been fallen silent for middle America...AND GORE WOULD HAVE even bigger win in 2000.

This is a legal question, not a political one. All the spin in the world won't change the legal reality.

Eventually, Bush is going to have to make a decision. Either cut Rove loose, or pardon him. Either will be a political nightmare.

If they can get away with murdering thousands, they'll get away with this too. What kills me is the hipocrisy. Rove will come right out and admitt she was fair game and he did it and absolutely nothing willl happen. No one cares except us.
