Why Do Republicans like being on their knees?
Just wondering - I truly think that if Clinton had conspired to get us into an illegal, COWARDLY war (remember the UN wiped out Saddam's planes, etc. before the war), if US troops were dying unnecessarily and for no other reason than to further enrich he and his vice president and family, if Clinton had tried to pass the Patriot Act to remove our civil liberties, if Clinton had not only fallen asleep at the wheel before and during 9/11 (if you believe that's what happened, although I don't and evidence doesn't support the incompetence theory), as well as every agency underneath him, and he rewarded all those same people with promotions and medals. What if Clinton KNOWINGLY LIED in his State of the Union address - don't you believe that most Democrats would have stood up and said - THAT'S IT, YOU'RE NO GOOD FOR US AND YOU'RE NO GOOD FOR AMERICA AND YOU'VE GOT TO GO. IMPEACH! We'll take our shame and embarrasment, but we'll do what's right for America. But instead, all Clinton did was lie about sex. We had 8 years of peace & prosperity, plus a very smart charasmatic man representing us.

Is it a question of stupidity, of putting party over America, or what? Like I said, just wondering. I truly doubt there would have been very many of us defending Clinton had he done all the things this pResident has done. He would have had no chance with the Republicans and Democrats against him - yet, this pResident gets away with murder, literally, and the only answer can be because of his weak base - who will continue to blow him no matter what. I SAY STAND UP - GET OFF YOU KNEES AND DO WHAT'S RIGHT. Not that it would mean anything to them.

God, their whole party is a DADDY, DADDY, SAVE ME FROM THE BIG BAD TERRORISTS - TAKE MY LIBERTIES AND EVERYBODY ELSE'S TOO - CAUSE WE'RE SCARED! To the Freepers - I say GET UP OFF YOU KNEES - AND STAND UP FOR AMERICA RATHER THAN YOUR PARTY!!

2. It's easier than thinking
They are the most dependent, docile group of 'rugged individualists' I've ever seen.

3. Many of them lack the capacity for critical thought.
Something a good basic education should provide.

We need better education in this Nation.

Toyota could not teach enough Alabamans to turn a wrench in their factory without drawing pictures for them. Toyota finally gave up and moved the factory to Ontario.

These people wouldn't know what to think or say regarding politics if Rush or Hannity didn't tell them.

I am not optimistic for the future of this Nation with so many ignorant, easily-manipulated people on board.

I am not a rocket scientist myself, but I can tell the difference between what a group says and what they do. The republicans rely on masses of ignorant people who will believe their propaganda.

4. uh, remember FDR's words

"A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned how to walk forward."

6. Nope, didn't remember that - but
thanks for the post - I WANT ALL LURKING FREEPERS TO THINK ABOUT THIS - DO YOU LIKE BEING ON YOUR KNEES?

DO YOU FEEL PROUD OF WHAT YOU'VE TURNED AMERICA INTO?
ARE YOU PROUD OF OUR ECONOMY?
ARE YOU PROUD OF OUR DEFICIT?
ARE YOU PROUD OF THIS COWARDLY WAR?
IS IT OKAY WITH YOU THAT MEN & WOMEN ARE DYING FOR A LIE?
IS IT OKAY WITH YOU THAT INNOCENT IRAQI BABIES, WOMEN, MEN & CHILDREN ARE DYING BECAUSE THEY ARE SITTING ON BUSH'S OIL?

7. I had a thought --
Republicans are the party of bullies and the bullied.

There is that part of the party which is willing to terrorize its own people to gain their own ends. Then there that part of the party which has withered before the bullying - "I'll shut up and do what you say, if you will just pick on somebody else, preferably someone with brown skin and an accent".

Republicans are an authoritarian culture, where the big man lays down the law and the little guy obeys, not because the law is right but because he's scared of the big guy.

That's why the blue-collar/red-neck republican will consistently vote against his own self interest -- it is more important that he vote in the self interest of the big man, to whom he has ceded all rights and responsibilities.

I've had problems with bullies all my life. There were kids on the playground who were bullies, and there were teachers in the classrooms who were bullies, and I got beat up a lot, physically and intellectually, because I refused to back down to them -- too stubborn for my own good.

I think that is why I am a Democrat today.

But I hate the feeling of being back in 7th grade again, every day.

8. You are right about the "bully"
except for now they've got the Right Wing Evangelicals - which seals the deal. Of course, those that accept the Bible as an absolute authority without questioning, are mindless sheeple to begin with.

Count your past as a blessing instead of a curse - it has made you way more SMARTER - and the lesson has probably been worth it. Who wants to be a mindless sheeple bully so full of fear themselves?
