Could Springer's RED State pandering be anymore TRANSPARENT? |
|
He's into honky tonk music? Puhleeze....and not going after that self described NEOCON for comparing ROVE's treason to CLINTON's BJ?
I really don't think we need to suck up to the red state types...we just need a shot at a clean election!
Pandering makes us look weak and untrustworthy.

2. He has recorded in Nashville in the past. |
|
Just like the Flag and Patriotism, honky-tonk music does not belong to the GOP. Jerry is one of the most solid liberals in the media. He sniffed out and explained the Iraq debacle when many so-called Dem leaders were still voting for it.

3. Why Do You Think He's Pandering? |
|
A lot of the old 60,s music that Springer grew up with is based on traditional styles like honky-tonk.

so what's that got to do with anything?
incidentally if you ever truly listen to jerry he's quite frank about trying to reach out to the republicans.
his entire show is supposed to be one big "come to jesus" affair.

He wants to appeal to everyone. As far as his liking honky tonk musick, so what? Alot of people like honky tonk and plenty of them arent republicans.
As far as his not challenging a claim, I didnt hear the segment, but you will need to do a little better than finding one unchallenged claim, Jerry is on the radio and has a short period of time to make the point he wants to make, if that isnt the point you would have made in his place it doesnt mean he is pandering to anyone.

... is exactly what we need on the radio. Sure, we need some attack-dogs-from-the-left. We have Malloy (who I love) for that. But the more moderate voices like Springer and Franken have a role to play.
Remember, Springer is not there to win you over, you are already won. He's there to win over the moderates and frankly I think he does a damn good job *most of the time*.

Dumbest fucking post of the day.
I grew up in Clevo, am about as left as they come, and I love Honky Tonk. I only have a passing knowledge of Springer throughout the years, but I do know he's always been a fan of country music.
People on the Left like country and Honky Tonk music, too.
Jesus.

11. Not really - the cowboy theme is appropriate for his age. |
|
Think Roy and Dale, Hopalong Cassidy, etc. there are plenty of "Jewish cowboys"; Billy Crystal - "City Slickers" for example.
