"I'm going on vacation - a hunting trip in Iraq"
That's what a co-worker just said. He wants to kill all of them "dirty rag heads" - not just what he can carry "but as many that will fall to the ground".

I just sat there dumbfounded, at a loss for words.

I've noticed that he tends to regurgitate Michael Savage from the previous afternoon's show. I've called him on that before. I know the Idiot Savage used the term "dirty rag heads" yesterday, now I'm certain he called for the killing of them all after I quit listening.

:scared:

I know, I know - why do I listen? It's really for only about 15 minutes on my way to pick up my son from daycare. That's all I can take.

I feel 2 ways about it - (1) I don't want to be a hypocrite, telling Repubs to listen to our side and not listen to their side myself and (2) know thine enemy.

17. When "their side"
should be locked up in a mental institution, I feel no obligation to listen.

When "their side" preaches nothing but hate and violence towards others, I feel no obligation to listen.

You can know your enemy just from reading about them at mediamatters.org or crooksandthieves.

19. Good idea. My blood pressure can't handle the things they say.
But maybe it's also like the accident on the highway - it's gruesome but one can't help but look.

I often wonder if other drivers think I'm deranged, all alone in the car yelling at the top of my lungs to nobody.

22. I listen to Lake Wobegone stories by Garrison Keillor
in the car (on tape). Or I listen to music. It's great.

Do you get AAR in your area?

24. Yeah, I ought to just listen to music. Eminem's "Mosh" ...
is excellent to listen to when I get really irate.

Crank it up.

2. Did you ask him when he is enlisting?
The military is short in recruitment, you could tell him.

13. Exactly.
Recruiters are just BEGGING to sign people like him up. Heck, with all the incentives, he can make a decent amount of money AND kill people -- from his perspective, what could possibly be more American?

16. He's probably too old.
But his daughter is just the right age and he did say she needed a job - I'll make that suggestion!

We don't wish any specific harm on people like these, but a good swift kick in the ass wouldn't hurt. :)

8. When is he enlisting?
When does he get to discover that you can't kill another human being without killing a little bit of yourself?

9. Is he on his way to Iraq?
Or just another tough-talking yellow elephant with the 101st Fighting Keyboarders? Because if he's going to put on the uniform, I suspect he'll get cured of his bloodlust real quick (or succumb to lead poisoning). And if he's not, well, his type is a dime a dozen and nobody I would want to be anywhere near me in a real jam.

10. Do a google image search on "Iraqi Children"
Print out the photos and leave them on his desk.

Be prepared for extreme horror.

14. The co-worker's extreme horror?
Nah, he'll just put them in the trash. Or laugh, to show what a "big man" he thinks he is.

I say he needs to get some boots on, strap on a weapon and get over there, say with the 1st Cav Division. Yeah, that would be good for him.

Let him see how he feels about killing then. All talk, no walk.

before they could reproduce.

GAWD how can someone seriously be like that?

12. Then he should enlist. (Here are the forms)
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 04:26 PM by brainshrub
Next time he opens his mouth about killing rag-heads. Agree with him! Once you have him going, hand him these forms:

http://www.rethinkingschools.org/archive/19_03/military_enlistment.pdf

Unless he enrolls, he's a yellow elephant. In an earlier era, people like him would have committed suicide out of shame for being such a coward.

21. I printed the forms out and put them on his desk, with a note...
to give them to his daughter.

Thanks - his dad was in the Air Force in Korea (I think) and he has all these pictures of military airplanes in his office. Acts as if his dad's heroism is his own.

Perfect example of talking the talk and not even crawling the walk.

They also die alot, and nobody really gives a shit since they aren't included in the official death count. Still, I'm sure he's anxious to walk the walk- so...

28. Surely He Knows That The Greatest Game Shoots Back
Surely your co-worker knows that if he actually DOES go to Iraq, he risks being killed or wounded himself (cleanly and painlessly if he's lucky, more slowly, painfully, and piecemeal if he's not). After all, Iraq's "Greatest Game" are usually armed, keep grudges, and do bomb or shoot back.

I do know Americans over there in Gee Dubya's Big Sandy Adventure. I hope and pray for their safe return to the US.
