What if the press started hounding the White House?
Wouldn't it be delicious if the press finally decided that not only are they going after the WH about Rove but they decided to go after them for all the scandals at once? They could form a plan to start off each question with Rove and when Scotty boy said he declines to answer they can say, "Well, if you won't talk about Rove, how about...." You can fill in the blank with any number of stories they have neglected over the years. Each one can state if Scotty won't talk about Rove then here is another choice. I bet they might stop having press conferences altogether! Scotty would just faint if that happened. It is time to take back our press and ask the tough questions. Let's release the dogs.

1. That would be cool but.....
.... i will never happen.

You have to live up to the WH standards to be on the press. If you ask the wrong questions to many times you may find that your pass is no longer valid.

The WH decides who, or who will not be on the WH press.

I agree with you in that if this happened press conferences would stop.

10. Well they have been doing their jobs the last couple of days.
So it is not beyond what I would expect right now. Now if you had said that a few weeks ago, I would have never believed they would do their job.

3. With Rove's threatening the press days likely over.....
the press might stop acting like utter lap dogs. But go on attack? That would
be a dream come true.

5. People would actually realize
something was up. I don't think the press is supposed to go after republicans, just democrats.

7. I think it is a serious possiblity...
... and here are two good reasons - one I dreamed up myself and one I read here on DU.

1) The press is PISSED. Journalists stick together like other professionals do. They've played ball and played ball and played ball with these ingrates and now they've gone and let one of their own to go jail. Regardless of the merits or lack thereof of those defending her position, the fact is she's in jail and it's someone in the adminsitration that put here there in a manner of speaking.

2) Rove is the one the press fear most. He's on the ropes at the moment. Maybe these guys are thinking, we can deliver a knock-out punch right about now, let's do it.

8. Some creative ideas
For reporters...

1) When Scotty refuses to answer a question, they can all:

a) stand up and turn their backs to him
b) take out a clown nose and put it on, and when asked about it by Scotty, say "Well, you treat us like clowns, so we thought we'd dress the part."
c) take out a dunce cap and say "Well, you treat us like we're all morons, so we thought we'd just make it easier."
d) turn around and moon him and in unisom yell, "Scott you're such an ass"

Will something like this happen? Odds are against it. But just because it's not improbable doesn't mean it's impossible....

 :dunce:

9. I love the idea of nailing him with some serious questions about the
myriad OTHER lies that this little chickenshit chickenhawk sorry-ass misadministration keeps spouting.
Ask him about the stolen elections.
Ask him about Chimpy being a deserter.
Ask him what James Guckert is up to these days.
