children detained at Gitmo. Said children between the ages of 8-14 were sleep deprived, bit by dogs, not allowed to see their lawyer or any loved one for up to 2 years, etc.
Pretty sick stuff. I gotta say, I picked a hell of a night to start listenin to Malloy
But still...I don't know if I can bring myself to look on America as the bad guy

the new batch of Abu Ghraib photos show some horrible things. :-( I did a Google and found some links from last year when Sy Hersh first spoke about it. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/7/14/193750/666http://talkleft.com/new_archives/007464.htmlhttp://talkleft.com/new_archives/007286.htmlhttp://www.truthout.org/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi/22/5309(This one was written by Will Pitt) On edit: Photos are due to be released next week.

ABC-TV (Australia) first broke the story back in '02.
That was the only news report in this whole sordid B*sh saga that literally made me vomit.

13. How many times does the story have to be told? |
|
Generation, after generation, it seems, has to learn the lesson the hard way no matter how many historical accounts, novels, films, treaties, conventions and wars to end all wars resolve to at long last, civilize war--as if it were possible. It is in the very nature of war to terrorize and brutalize populations, yet people wrap it up in the flag and parade it with pride and defend and support the troops as heros instead of pawns.
That is why I spit on you, John Kerry, and I carry this endless and bitter lament towards your grandstanding on the Iraqi war crime even AFTER you, yourself have witnessed...the torturing of little kids.
