JOE WILSON: 'The President should fire Rove'! (WILSON STRIKES BACK)
JOE WILSON: 'The President should fire Rove'!

http://www.bradblog.com/archives/00001590.htm

<snip>

He told us that he'd be appearing on NBC's Today Show tomorrow morning and would be repeating that call.

As well, he told The BRAD BLOG that he planned to read a letter on air which he received from Bush's father, President George H.W. Bush shortly after an article of his was printed in the San Jose Weekly News, on October 13, 2002, in which Wilson related his concerns about the pitfalls of the approach to Iraq being taken at the time by both the U.N. and the U.S.

In reply to that article, Wilson said that the former President wrote that he had "read your article and I agree with a lot of it."

Additionally, Wilson explained, Bush 41's own National Security Advisor, Brett Scowcroft had contacted him to ask whether he "could walk on over to the White House with the letter" at the time. Which apparently he did.

Wilson also had sent the article to Bush 41's Secretary of State, James Baker.

"None of them responded saying you’re a Democratic partisan hack and your views suck," said Wilson.

The above points are notable, because armed with those RNC talking point, Rush Limbaugh, Fox "News" and Friends have today kicked into overdrive smearing and lying about Wilson, claiming that he was against the Iraq War from the get-go.

he became enlightened. He is no creampuff. I have heard him speak extensivly on several C-Span programs and he is bright and forthright.

15. Bright, hell
He's brilliant.

Brilliant, principled, articulate and well-spoken, accomplished, well-mannered, a courageous truth-teller, staunch defender of his partner (and apparently very much in love with her) -- precisely the type of man that I could fall for.

12. They fucked with the wrong guy. Ambassador Wilson, we salute you!
Nobody has had the spine to stand up against these Neocon wise-guys. Wilson did and he did not back down under the pressure of the standard smear and humiliation campaigns.

Ambassador Wilson must love his wife and his country. He represents the kind of values that are in such short supply among politicians. He did single-handedly what an army of Democrats could not or would not and exposed the rotten core of our government.

Joe Wilson, we salute you!

13. for those of you who dare to enter this black hole
of embarassing ignorance - check out the desperation in freeperville where they discuss the same article.

They're running out of talkingpoints!!

I saw one freeper post where they actually accuse him of pedophilea (scott ritter redux?)

I think they're in their last phase before their skins start to melt!

21. Man, they are quite ill over in freeperville...
that whole thread is just laughable.

Do they realize that for the majority of Wilsons life he has been a loyal republican, working under Reagan and Bush Sr. administrations??

If Bush Sr., Scowcroft, or Baker had any spine or integrity, they should march in front of the cameras and tell their neo-con cousins to shut the hell up.

All the freepers do is gripe that anyone who dares insult the village idiot administration is automatically just a "librul." Thats the whole basis for their arguments against republican Wilson, republican Richard Clarke, republican Brent Scowcroft, republican Colin Powell, republican John McCain, republican Lindsay Graham, republican Paul O'Neill, republican Chuck Hagel, republican Grassley, republican Arlen Specter... My gosh, with so many "libruls" in the republican party, maybe we ARE in the wrong party.

This guy is a shining light. He just might lead us out of this darkness.

17. Wilson is NO partisan hack...
...I hope he's able to put the smackdown on Limpballs, Fux "Newz" and the rest of the slime machinery. He doesn't strike me as the type to take this type of crap lying down and after what they did to his wife, he's probably PISSED - as well he should be.
