The deficit is going down ! ....Uh, not really.... |
|
Limbaugh and the Repubs were shouting this from the rooftops yesterday. Why? Because they think this is one of their most vulnerable issues in next years election...becasue they take internal polls? So, now they want to show that Bush's taxcuts are really working. The deficits are coming down!, they shout.
But, they don't tell you that they are taking about $200 billion off the books each year for the war in Iraq and other "intelligence" purposes. Senator Kent Conrad explained it very well yesterday when he pointed out that the deficits are actually about $600 billion per year right now! That's over a $trillion dollars every two years under this group of cover-upping thugs.

3. Psssst! Newsflash! We're ALREADY in a recession, and have been.... |

...for quite some time. The only people saying otherwise are employed by the NeoCons.
The next step in the downward plunge is going to be a real test for everyone but the top 1%.

4. When one of the repug talking heads is one TV "crowing" about |
|
the deficit going down I wish just once the TV Talking Head would ask them what was cut from the budget to bring the deficit down. We know it wasn't the military or the war. Tax revenues are down and the repugs just gave themselves another raise, so where is the money coming from to lower the deficit? The numbers don't add up and they don't lie.
Ask how the money was saved and I'm betting the majority of people would be pissed to know it is coming from homeland security, benefits for police and fireman, for social programs, education, student loans, health care and a sundry of programs that the majority of Americans support.
Sounds like a letter to Countdown and Keith - he might be the only person with the guts to pose the question.

7. And it isn't the deficit that's going down |
|
It's the White House projection of what the deficit will be that went down. This and two bucks will get you a cup of coffee at your finer emporiums.
