All Marriage Amendments are Unconstitutional
I've looked it up on
http://thomas.loc.gov/

And I found no bills ever talking about a 'man' and a 'woman'

How can there be a Federal Marriage Amendment when there is no definition of what a 'woman' and 'man' is?

How can there be any Marriage Amendments that mention 'man' and 'woman' when there is no definition of what they are?

1. By definition, an amendment cannot be unconstitutional.
An amendment, if ratified, becomes PART of the Constitution.

4. Ugh, the Judges should have acted on this when these 'bills' were bills

So, basically Arbitrary Trash is now in the Constitutions of several states and at one point almost in the US Constitution?

6. No luck there either.
Judges don't have any say on bills, only laws. And they can only rule on those laws that are brought to them in a suit.

State constitutions can be overridden by the US Constitution, but that would be the only hope.

5. Thank you.
I grind my teeth when somebody says a proposed amendment is unconstitutional.

2. How can you have constitution at all
The constitution contains words and yet no where within the document are the words defined. There is no discussion of how letters are put together to form words. Nor does the constitution define how seemingly random squiggles can stand for phonetic sounds.

3. But then would it be unconstitutional
if it goes against the "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"?
I would think that the Founding Fathers wouldn't mind allowing those who are different to be able to marry, or am I wrong?

7. How can there be a 2nd Amendment
when "arms" is not defined?

9. I once explained my point better in a previous post about this
There's litigation in these amendments that doesn't make sense.

All of these marriage amendments restrict marriage to a 'man and a woman'

A. What exactly is a man?

B. What exactly is a woman?

C. Where does a hermaphrodite fit in?

D. Where does a castrated person fit in?

The reason I'm bringing this up is because I have a feeling that Bush and the GOP will resurrect the FMA again.
