Horrifying case of animal cruelty in Georgia

I saw this on the news this AM. The photos were awful. This story does not do it justice. These poor dogs looked like furry skeletons. And the worst part of all was that some who were almost too weak to even pick their heads up were attempting to wag their tails at the camera crew.

According to authorities, an animal control officer was sent to 6089 Williams Road about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday to check into reports of cruelty to animals.

The officer found 37 pit bulls, many of them undernourished and exhibiting signs of physical cruelty. The dogs ranged from puppies to adults. Several puppies suffered from severe malnutrition.

The 37 dogs were taken to the county animal shelter, where they remained Wednesday, said Officer M. Chatham, acting road supervisorfor county animal control.

"They're all still here, and they're eating," Chatham said Wednesday afternoon.

Too many times human pondscum like this get a slap on the wrist. Make an example of them and put it in the media.

Is it because they can't get away with doing things like this to other people? Many serial killers start out torturing animals before they move on to people.

There was a story on our local news a while back about some woman running a puppy mill out in a rural county near Dallas and when they went out to investigate (phoned-in tips), they found some dogs didn't even have a LOWER JAW (their tongues permanently hung out and they had great difficulty eating and drinking) because of untreated infection. They showed them and I thought I would vomit right there. It was horrific--the dog actually looked incredibly happy just because her tongue was hanging out so far, but it was a very misleading look. Also their paws were fucked up from walking on only wire cage floors and soaking in urine all the time.

I'm not a violent person but I wanted to beat her ass to a pulp on the spot. Glad I don't do that job, I'd have to be restrained every time we went out on a call.

6. I had to stop watching Animal Cops on Animal Planet because of that

It would just get me too upset.

7. Yeah my daughter was actually interested in it for a while

but we couldn't stomach it any longer and both decided to quit watching it. Ug. I'd have nightmares.

There has GOT to be a special room in hell for people who hurt animals and children. There just HAS to be.
