Poll question: Is the Democratic Party really that disorganized? Or is that just BS? |
|
I always hear, "Holy crap, are the Dems disorganized!" I usually hear it from Dems themselves, actually. Is that really true, or are we being fed yet even more spin?
Is the Democratic Party really any more disorganized than any other party, including the so-called "disciplined" Repubs?

1. It depends what is meant by organization. |
|
The democratic party itself is not underorganized, in fact it may be overorganized.
The democratic base is horribly unorganized, mostly because of a right wing war on democratic organization.
I get nervous with this issue, because I think alot of people mistake authoritarianism for organization, especially those people jealous of the republican machine.

3. We're not as organized as we should be |
|
We need to be more organized locally, because that's what counts at election time.

4. The goal is not to become like the Republicans. |
|
The goal is to defeat them. Today's GOP is highly organized because it is essentially the party of the religious right and of corporate welfare. The Democrats are essentially everyone else.

5. More like disfunctional and warring with itself. |

It's time for the progressive wing to break off and form a leftist party that actually stands for something other than the politicis as usual of the oligarchy that disguises itself as a democracy.
I've been a Democrat since 1965 and have watched it shift it to the right to a point, now, where it is little more than the moderate wing of the Republican party.
Time for a real change in this country. The establishment RepubloDem party is killing it.

10. I say let the Repub-lites break and form their own party |
|
Why should they have the Democratic Party. It's ours. It became theirs in late 1992 and they drove it into the dirt ever since.

Gov. Schwitzer of Montanna is a perfect example of a *traditional Dem* in a largley "red" land that won his seat not by acting like a repub (in a sea of repubs), but by clearly articulating why the Democratic values (are you listening, DLC?) were in the voters best interest.

11. I agree with Zodiac, plus the leftists should take over the Dem party. |
|
Isn't there a good book going around about that?
First, start by taking over the school boards.

6. Remember, Repukes also claim that we are in lockstep |

which totally contradicts their attacks of being "disorganized" . . .

8. I think it's true in that the Dems don't issue talking points and expect |

everyone to be lockstep the same way the repubs do.

12. Just look at the state of the party in Florida compared to the Repubs |
|
Not that Florida is indicative of the party nationwide, but Florida has one of the largest Democratic party populations and top five overall populations.
The party is an absolute disorganized wreck in Tallahassee. A damn embarrassment.
The repubs in Florida are well organized, financial sound and sitting pretty.
If the party doesn't get it's shit together with stronger leadership and better control, the repubs could run Bullwinkle the moose as governor and Rocky the squirrel as lieutenant governor and probably win

13. I couldn't vote. There was no option for "The Democratic Party is a |

small subsidiary of the Republican Party, wholly owned, and helps them by offering only weak resistence and laying down and playing dead in the 7th round."

Which isn't a bad thing. If memory serves Jesus was a disenter against the conservatives in his day. The right is not more organized than us there more zombified. What is going to be so sweet is the o8 primairy when we see the Fristian Fraction fight with the moderate to the liberal wing of the gop. Dont let the red and blue map fool you. Half this country, including the green and liberterian voters voted against a sitting war time president. Yep the o8 gop primairy is going to be a fun show to watch. I am going to grab me a bag of pop corn and and diet coke and have a good old time watching Candidate Frist Debate Specter Debate Mcain and debate alan keyes. Man its going to be funny.
