3. The Power Of Access...
Like Matt needed Karl to really ask him...he knew that if he outted Rove that the next article he wrote would be in the Gaithersberg Shopper. That was the quid pro quo on a lot of these talking heads.

Last week O'Donnell said Rove's name was "common knowledge" around the corporate media circles for quite some time. Ya think it was fear of Fitzgerald that kept it out of print? Think again.

We've crossed a big threshold here.

4. That's it!
Holy shit! You just solved the Rove puzzle. If Rove spent the better part of the last two years trying to convince Cooper not to out him....he's guilty as all hell. Miller is a GOP hack and should stay in jail as long as possible. Her not wanting to testify has nothing and I mean nothing to do with the 1st amendement and freedom of the press. Her reasons are political. Fitzgerald seems to be putting together quite the case. The other leaker is Cheney for sure. Where the fuck has he been the last month?

Rove is toast and so all the GOP whores who continue to politisize everything in sight.

5. I can smell JEFF GANNON in all of this
I can't put my finger on exactly why but I just have a feeling he's somehow lurking in this scandal.

6. Interesting angle! Consider this!
Rove supposedly gave Fitzgerald a "general waiver" allowing any reporter that talked to him to freely testify to the grand jury about any conversations the reporter had with him.

Cooper took the position that this "general waiver" wasn't any good. That Fitzgerald may have coerced it from Rove and that unless and until Rove gave Cooper a "specific waiver" -- one specifically authorizing Cooper to talk -- Cooper felt bound not to reveal Rove as his source.

Cooper(together with Miller who was supposedly similarly situated) then litigated the validity of their privilege all the way to the Supreme Court.

On the eve of his contempt hearing, Cooper (through his attorney communicating with Rove's attorney) supposedly got the "specific waiver" he needed from Rove.

So my question. Was Rove's tender of the "general waiver" a ruse? Was he hiding behind it, telling Fitzgerald "Hey, I've waived my right to keep my communications confidential" while simultaneously telling Cooper "Don't talk! Fitzgerald coerced that general waiver from me. Don't talk unless and until I give you a specific waiver."

As a result, for two years Cooper honored Rove's request.

If this is what happened, Rove's guilty of borderline, if not outright, obstruction of justice IMHO.

What does everyone think?
I wonder if something like this happened.
