Joe Wilson's Top Ten Worst Inaccuracies And Misstatements

1.) Wilson Insisted That The Vice President’s Office Sent Him To Niger:

No.

http://www.yuricareport.com/NY%20Times/The%20Ambassador...

"In February 2002, I was informed by officials at the Central Intelligence Agency that Vice President Dick Cheney's office had questions about a particular intelligence report. While I never saw the report, I was told that it referred to a memorandum of agreement that documented the sale of uranium yellowcake — a form of lightly processed ore — by Niger to Iraq in the late 1990's. The agency officials asked if I would travel to Niger to check out the story so they could provide a response to the vice president's office."

2.) Wilson Claimed The Vice President And Other Senior White House Officials Were Briefed On His Niger Report:

No.

"Though I did not file a written report, there should be at least four documents in United States government archives confirming my mission. The documents should include the ambassador's report of my debriefing in Niamey, a separate report written by the embassy staff, a C.I.A. report summing up my trip, and a specific answer from the agency to the office of the vice president (this may have been delivered orally). While I have not seen any of these reports, I have spent enough time in government to know that this is standard operating procedure."

3.) Wilson Has Claimed His Niger Report Was Conclusive And Significant

No.

"There was nothing secret or earth-shattering in my report, just as there was nothing secret about my trip."

...

6.) Wilson Claimed He Was A Victim Of A Partisan Smear Campaign

Well, Yes he did. But:

2. and all the poodle press seems to want to do is let the Rethugs appear
and parrot the WH talking points - hell, it always works! Say it often enough and the sheeple will believe anything.
Thank God for the few like David Gregory and others who are asking some real questions, instead of cowering before the unholy BushCo administration.

8. Yeah! Wilson & Plame are HEROES in the War on Terror!
The government should be going after al Qaeda instead of discussing secret information with New York Times reporters!

4. Wilson PROVED Iraq never sought uranium from Africa!
Dick Cheney sent him there to find out what was going on. He was a loyal Cheney minion and he got screwed over!

7. Funny, the GOP doesn't really say that Saddam shopped for uranium.
Therefore Wilson could be a raving lunatic horsethief and Bush still took us to war on false pretenses. What's the point, besides the hatred of GOP for anyone who dares cross their GodBush and his holy prophet St.Rove?

The GOP can't defend having that shithead run this country, no matter who it smears.
