Theory: If Scooter Libby Is The One Who Told Rove, But Rove Testified...
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 12:18 AM by ruggerson
that he heard about Plame from reporters, whose names he conveniently couldn't remember, aren't both Libby and Rove fucked?

Libby for breaking the Espionage law and Rove for perjury and obstruction of justice (protecting both Libby and himself and.....).

1. This theory also assumes
that Judith Miller is protecting Scooter Libby and that they had discussed Plame in detail.

3. Well that's pretty clear cut
and hadn't occurred to me.

If Rove did say that to federal agents, then he is caught in a rather blatant lie. And one easy to prove, since these news reports tonight indicate that he TESTIFIED to discussing this with Novak and other reporters before Novak's column came out.

4. "Conspiracy to Defraud the US Government"
John Dean recently pointed out that this was the statute that nailed a lot of very well represented Watergate figures. It means that you're not doing your job, at all, or screwing it up while you get paid, hence the "defrauding." Don't you love it.

Well, these guys are all guilty of that but, whether the intelligence laws were violated is not the issue. The issue is, how bad do they want to get these guys.

I think they want them bad. Fitzgerald got burned by somebody when he tried to raid and arrest some Muslim charities suspected of giving money to the "moran" bin Lootin. When his Feds arrived (2001 or so), all the records were destroyed. Now it's pay back time.

We'll see.
