Almost 50% of Ed Schultz callers today were NEW listeners!
Many of them were moderate Republicans disgusted with the Treason scandal. It's quite obvious that this is going to help Progressive talk show hosts in a big way and it's a golden opportunity to convert many people to our side! Many people are interested in this scandal and they are tuning in to talk Radio to see what people are saying. I am sure they are going back and fourth from Progressive to Conservative radio comparing and contrasting. Ed had Larry Johnson on today (a Republican CIA agent) who went to school with Valerie Plame. This guy was very convincing and did not sound partisan at all but he came down on Bush HARD so I am sure a lot of moderates tuning in for the first time were extremely impressed.

Can you imagine going from Hannity insanity then going to Ed Schultz and hearing a Republican CIA person riping Bush and Rove to shreds backed with one sold fact after another? This has got to be helping us big time! We have to keep Larry Johnson talking on EVERY talk show available! He is very effective!

1. a long time radio guy in this area...
....said yesterday that eleven months ago he "lost bush". this liberal talk guy has been shifting to conservative for years and years. he voted for bush in 2000. he has a lot of influence in this area as he's trusted. been on the air since the mid 70s. i think he's thrown up his hands. the guy is very well read and into history and has a way of convincing listeners. this is a very good thing.

4. This is great!!
Wow on both accounts. Are there any archives up of Schultz's show? I'm not really a fan of him but I'd like to hear these people call in.

16. Peter Boyles?
If so, I really enjoyed his show when I lived there. I've never listened to anyone on the radio with even 1/2 his knowledge of history, and funny at the same time.

I remember him being more to the left than right, but I left soon after 9-11 so maybe he changed at that point. I know Jay Marvin swerved over for awhile, but I think is back to where he was in the 90's.

I'm thinking that next week I'll try to get up earlier (2 hr time difference) and catch his show on the web, thanks for jogging my memory!

17. Yes and I was very surprised
He was a Bush booster and argued for his policies. I stopped listening and enjoyed Bernie Ward, Ray T. and also Malloy on the old IE network. Then AAR got started. So I only listen to Pete for a few minutes once in a while. I'm glad he's waking up. But I don't know how strong he is on opposing the policies every day. He retreats to a lot of different topics like Ward Churchill when Rove and the war are so much more important. I hope he's deeply ashamed for being a W supporter.

18. I don't recall or have forgotten his voting for the Chimp,
I know he was not a Clinton fan, and transferred this over to Gore.

He's difficult to peg at times, sometimes a little inconsistent. At least he's not a Mike Rosen.

19. eventually he said he'd voted for w
but he never said a word about it before the 2000 election. i never heard anything about the 2004 election, though. perhaps the war woke him up.

2. I'm not a big fan of Ed, but..
He's bringing some other people into the tent, and they could potentially vote for a Democrat in 2006 and 2008. So I guess we'll see if he helps us out at all.

5. Considering how Schultz's wife converted him from GOP to Dem,
he is really good at talking with the republicans who are fed up with Bush. It's one of those things where you have to have experienced it to truely understand it.

8. I completely agree with this
I know Schultz isn't everyone's cup of tea here, but he's not supposed to be. For the old-Time Traditional Blue-Collar Democrats, he's their voice. I don't agree w/ everything he says, but that's ok.

11. If he wasn't talking about politics, I would swear he's a full blooded
Republican. The way he talks, the way he acts, etc remind me completely of my family (traditional republicans... not neocon).

12. Well, that makes the decision of which sat radio to get VERY easy.
XM all the way.

I am a bit pissed off that they butcher Randi Rhodes' show.

13. I guess today they played the whole thing
Know anyone that wants a good deal on Sirius?

Only good thing about sirius is that I get cspan.
They do have Talk Left - Hartmann is on which is great, but there is some lady with the most annoying voice on in the afternoon.

At least I can listen to Randi in the afternoon on regular radio.
I wouldn't be able to live without the goddess.
