what kind of people live in florida? why is there so much of this kind of horror in florida? Earlier in the week, a 21 year-old Tampa man went on trial for murdering his 3-year old son. Apparently the father, Ronnie Paris Jr., pummeled his boy to death http://www.sptimes.com/2005/07/13/Hillsborough/Mom_testifies_dad_bea.shtml

2. Let us see the church response to such events. What do they have to |
|
say from the pulpit in Florida? Will they keep to their Rovian talking points in order to 'gain political power'. Or will they teach their congregations that hate is a disease?

3. "We was quoting Scriptures and stuff." |
|
Was this the guy who "beat the gay" out of his 3 year old and killed him?
===
She says she originally kept quiet about the abuse because she didn't want to get him in trouble.
"We was quoting Scriptures and stuff, and I looked over at my baby and saw he wasn't breathing," she said.
Within minutes, the boy's father scooped him up, and they rushed to the hospital in his truck. Along the way, they ran into a a police officer, who performed CPR on the toddler. But the damage was already done. Thin as a reed and unconscious, the boy died six days later.

4. Lots of great folks - including DUers - live in Florida |
|
That's a terrible story, but one that, unfortunately, could happen in any state in the country these days.

That brings up the point who is protecting the children. I am tired as hell reading and seeing kids are kidnapped and murdered in Florida. This is starting to surface on a regular basis especially from there... Florida Department of Children Protective Services where in the hell are you?????

10. I seriously doubt it! |

I'm sure none of us are holding our breath for him to bust out with something honest and ethical for a change!
;-)
Just saying that the story referenced in the OP really doesn't reflect on all Florida residents, many of whom are wonderful members of the DU community.
