How the Foreign Press Views The Rove Flack

A review of foreign press coverage of the Valerie Plame / Karl Rove scandal reveals a world that views this country with skepticism. From London Telegraph:

The endorsement came after 24 hours of side-stepping questions about Mr Rove. This was in marked contrast to the White House's confident defence of his actions and its threats of action against wrongdoers in the two years since the controversy first broke.

As with many recent American political scandals, the danger to the White House appears to emanate not from a crime itself but from a cover-up.

The Financial Times (the European counterpart to the Wall Street Journal) noted that: "The dust-up over Karl Rove’s role in the Valerie Plame leak affair has the usually docile White House press corps smelling blood."
