Name the 'christian' Rightists who supported Bush.
Who are the members of the 'christian' Right, the Compassionate 'christians' who supported Bush?

(Note - This is not a question thread, this is an interactive thread. It's part of a new strategy that I am researching, so try it out. :))

1. The two that matter now:
James Dobson
Ralph Reed

Falwell and Robertson still hold some sway with the yahoos. Gary Bauer is still a minor player. Bob Jones has a little "oomph."

But these days, it's really Dobson's party. He has the mailing list.

And Reed is still the golden boy.

"Those who control the access to the minds of children will set the agenda for the future of the nation and the future of the western world." - James Dobson

"They're gone." - Referring to the Children

And we should all know about Ralph Reed's little tryst with Gambling casinos and that Jack Abramoff guy.

I'm trying to research this, as I said before this is a new strategy, I am trying to make some sort of educational post.

3. You mean Rove's "invisible" get out the vote campaign?
(Dems blew Repubs away in new voter registration in 2004, nearly 60/40.)

6. John Hagee, Rod Parsley, Paul Crouch
Sometimes, when channel surfing, I stop on TBN, Paul Crouch's evangelical network. Just about any good reverend talking will find a way to compliment our dear leader.

8. Rev. Sun Myung Moon
Rabbi Daniel Lapin (anti-gay, anti-recycling activist).

I just thought I'd throw a couple of the real oddest ones out there.

For what it's worth, Fred Phelps doesn't endorse George Bush.

11. Rabbi Daniel Lapin: Anti-gay, Anti-Recycling, Pro-Tom-DeLay
From Right-wing Watch
<snip>
Has denounced recycling as "The sacred sacrament of secularism." "Why? Because if we are animals then there is a shortage in the world. God doesn't take anything from us and God doesn't create and therefore there is a shortage ... Do not feel guilty for using what God has provided us. Enjoy it!"

Tongue Bath

Rabbi Daniel Lapin, friend to scumbag lobbyist Jack Abramoff, claims that his agreement to fabricate credentials for Abramoff was "tongue-in-cheek."

Yes, it was.

And Lapin didn't mean that he was kidding.

Also of interest: Abramoff got Lapin's brother, David, a $1.2 million contract to protect sweatshops in the Northern Marianas Islands. And G_d has declared tax rates over 20 percent "an abomination unto the Lord."

14. Pat Robertson?
Are we talking about Bush 1 or 2? I have seen no evidence of his distaste for this Bush.

19. Billy Graham ENDORSED $hrub in 2000
Graham may be a registered Dem, but he's been a power-whore ever since the Hearst newspapers launched his career in the late Forties.

In 2000, Graham appeared in public with $hrub and Pickles. After saying that he couldn't really endorse anybody--wink/nudge--he proceeded to bloviate on what a "fine young man" $hrub was, and talked about knowing him for his whole life. Then he said something like, "I think you know who I support in this election."

The story is easy to find on Google.

20. not so sure....
.... not only does Mr. Graham not 'remember' that 'life changing' conversation that W harps on (to his benefit) that 'changed his life'-

here is a link to another view-

http://heartsoulandhumor.blogspot.com/2004/11/billy-graham-is-democrat.html

Don't forget, that when Bill (C) 'repented'- MANY 'respected' 'Christians' went to the white house to council him- Billy Graham, was among them-
and so was Tony Campolo, and Bill Hybels- none of whom were ever 'forgiven' for this by the fundie crowd that i used to be a 'part' of-

i was astounded,- and enraged- Mr. Graham, might have done alot of stupid things in his life- (Nixon- being friends with Bush Sr. and raising such an intollerant, hate filled son- the prodigal 'Franklin' i DO believe Billy HAS learned from his mistakes- and grown more and more liberal as he has aged- and i'm glad of it- he was NEVER 'anti-abortion'- which most folks didn't know- and those who did usually denied him, hated him for (fundies, that is)

no one knows for sure how Billy voted except him- i personally believe he'd never have been able to vote in w- even if he did allow himself to be 'used' by Rove, for the propaganda-

but i could be wrong-
