Who was filling in for Tweety last night. David ???????
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:38 AM by King Coal
He was saying that it has proven that Joe Wilson lied. What is he alleging that Wilson lied about? I think it was that Wilson said that Cheney sent him to Niger. If you read what Wilson said, there is no way that you could claim that Wilson was lying. Is that the Lie that the fill-in was referring to?

1. David Gregory.
Same guy who's been chewing Scotty's butt at the White House press briefings.

3. David Gregory.
He also questions Scottie McClellan during the press briefings - he's been great lately.

4. David Gregory is guest hosting TONIGHT, too.
He was on the Imus program this morning and confirmed he'd be guest hosting Hardball tonight.

5. I often thing these guys get overwhelmed
They are doing the show, a Producer is screaming in their ear, and sometimes when new spin gets introduced even an intelligent person doesn't know how to handle it. Hopefully he'll correct himself soon. The RNC knows that if they can throw as much bogus crap out there as possible it's difficult to swat it all down - they are shameless.

6. It is an "is is" argument.
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:43 AM by Atman
Wilson claimed he was contacted by "the Vice President's Office" about the trip to Niger. Dick "Dick" Cheney claims he never spoke to Wilson. Wilson says he never said any such thing, only that he was contacted by THE VICE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE.

The right is using this as their confusion/lie meme to "prove" Wilson is an obvious liar. They are counting on the general public not really knowing the difference between a man who is the Vice President, and his office staff that does things for him at his behest. These same people probably think George Bush writes the bills he signs.

Unfortunately, this will likely work, with the "liberal media's" help.

7. Had a thread about it last night while it was on
I think we need to have a concerted effort to get Tweety replaced with him. He's what Tweety only aspires to be. I did think I heard the end of a blurb for "The Chris Matthews Show." Hope I heard right, Gregory has been "replacing" him a lot lately.

8. the so called lie
is that Cheney didn't directly send Wilson. Of course, Wilson never said that. He said the CIA sent him following a request from the VP's office. That is GOP talking point bs. I'm surprised Gregory repeated it. He's a decent reporter.

9. Yep. I was surprised to. But he said that it was a lie by Wilson that
had been proven. That is what pissed me off so much.

10. I thought it was one of the guests that repeated that,
not Gregory? Who, btw, is my new heart-throb :loveya: for his good work in chewing on Puffy McMoonface in the press gaggles.
