10. Laurence O'Donnell was saying that one of the judges called it a plot |
|
He (Lawrence) was pretty shocked by the term "plot."
One of the Judges involved in the case.

14. Before continuing with the investigation, Fitz |
|
had 3 or 4 judges, not related to the investigation, review all of the info....all reluctantly agreed with his tactic of forcing the reporters to testify with penalty of jail...so this MUST be big and important.

7. A "plot" against Wilson....ooooh, this is big |
|
This has to be referring to the "Iraq Group" ....anyone remember who all of the members were? Maybe indictiments against more than rove? Whoops!
O'Donnell mentioned several important points: one of the reviewing judges mentioned a plot against Wilson...they were all reluctant to order the reporters to testify, but felt the issue was important enough. Also, the FIRST person to testify must have been a CIA official who assertived that Plame was covert, otherwise everything else is moot.

17. Hmmm - Matalin, wife of James Carville - who's been saying |
|
(on CNN) about the Rove story: "It's probably irritating most people because it doesn't affect their lives." But it may be affecting HIS life - and pretty damn quick, no?

11. Not a Lou Dobbs fan but tonight his "subtlety" was good to see...and |
|
O'Donnel was fantastic in getting across the "seriousness" of this investigation" as he focused on the Judges decisions. I thought Dobbs was very skillful in weaving in the RW Talking Points attacks...yet letting O'Donnel have his time to refute and add info.
And, Dobbs devoted alot of his show to this coming at it from all angles that would engage the RW'ers as well as the Left. I have my own problems with Dobb's Libertarianism...but there are many of us Dems who have a few things, at this point in our history, we can agree with the Liberatarians on...when they go after BUSH and his HUGE GOVERNMENT.
If we can get a "New Coalition" together that bypasses both parties and can hammer out an agenda it might in the future be better than this "Red State/Blue State Crap we've been mired in for a long while now.
I might give Dobbs a few more tries to see where he's going with this...But I think the blueprint for a forging of a new coalition might be there. And much as I dislike the Libertarians (because they are closer to the Norquist view of "drowinging Government in a bathtub" we Dems are really so out on the limb because we've allowed the RW to categorize and trash us for our beliefs that forming a new coalition would be good. Dobbs did give time to the AFL-CIO about their new efforts to increase membership from former "non-union" sources. At first I thought that Dobbs the "Libertarian" was trashing union membership...but as I looked further I saw that he was opening the door for Libertarians to take another look. Otherwise he wouldn't have shown the "Union" snip on his show. At first I thought he was "dancing on Union Demise graves" but there was a "hint" from him that he was throwing some support their way. Since his focus has been on "Offshoring of US Jobs" it does seem that he can't be a total "Libertarian" as he would want us and them to believe.
Maybe Dobbs does see a "Fusion" of interests. And, we Dems do need to attract more than we have today with our Lieberman/Biden faction running the show. It will take Decades...but at least Dobbs provided a dialog. And I DON'T LIKE HIM..so if I say this it's only because I thought my view of his show tonight was one of the most fair and balanced (give or take a few things) that I've seen on cable...since I stopped watching because the "CRAP" was too overwhelming.

13. Cooper will be on Meet the Press, I believe, on Sunday |
|
which MAY mean that he will do his article prior to that and we will be able to learn more. Would not make sense for him to "scoop myself," as he put it, otherwise.

Dobbs is pretty good on some things. One thing I've appreciated about him, tho I actually rarely watch him, is that he has been very, VERY much against outsourcing and the loss of American jobs overseas, as well as some of what I'll call "money outsourcing," which means incorporting in places where big companies can avoid paying US taxes.
I find him a little more credible and with a lot more character and integrity than some of his peers. Somewhat decent, esp. compared with so much of what we get.

16. Thanks, Eloriel.. your "mixed" view of him helps me understand |
|
my own misgivings...yet, there was much there tonight to take a "second look at." So I appreciate your comments..in that I thought maybe I was going out on a limb here, expressing what I thought I saw from his show tonight.
Maybe the "totality" of his shows would prove the "LIE" to my "fantasy" about forging a new coaltion and that Dobbs might be going at all of it in a way that's so subtle we don't yet see it.
But, then...I'm ever hopeful...unless I'm really DOWN...DOWN...:D
