WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Tests on mice suggest the brain damage caused by Alzheimer's disease may be at least partly reversible, researchers reported Thursday.

But what we need ASAP is another way of shutting down that gene besides the use of Doxycycline. Other articles on Google already suggest that Doxycycline trials in human subjects stop the disease progression temporarily, but giving the drug beyond three months risks antibiotic resistance.

3. my husband and I spend 120 hours a week

taking care of an alzheimer's patient......it is very hard....we started 9 months ago and now we are getting into a stage that is wearing us out......just got off myself and have been up 40 hours trying to keep him safe. He doesn't sleep sometimes 3-4 days at a time..It is truly terrible. I have grown to care about this gentleman and as it progresses it has become nearly impossible for us to care for him.......it's a horrible disease I hope they can find help for these people.....it has shown me I hope to all hopes this doesn't happen to me.
