Rove as the patsy?
"What if Karl Rove isn't guilty of knowingly leaking Valerie Plame's name as a covert CIA agent involved in nuclear proliferation issues?

<snip>

"When Rove and his shills blabbed to reporters and anyone who would listen, they didn't realize that they were aiding and abetting an elaborate ploy to stick it to the CIA. "

<snip>

"...when Rove learned that he might have violated the law, he turned on Cheney and Libby and made it clear that he held them responsible for the problem they had created for the administration. The protracted silence on this topic from the White House masks considerable tension between the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President."

much more...

1. Not suprising
Well, he works directly for the patsy-in-chief.

I'm throughly convinced that that is Shrub's only purpose, to provide cover for President Cheney and pals to pillage and plunder. Of course, if Chimpus Khan goes down, everyone else will disappear with the loot.

2. Somehow this concept is even more pleasing to me
than if he purposely leaked her identity and was going down for a pre-meditated crime.

His entire career has been one of character assassination of the lowest, most cowardly variety -- anonymous leaks, sly innuendo, false accusations, planting evidence. There is nothing more contemptible than a sneak who never faces an opponent in a contest but who rigs it so that he'll win before his opponent even gets on the playing field. Yet he has always been proud of his prowess in that department.

To imagine that he'll finally be brought to account for a career of back-stabbing by another slithering back-stabber is too delicious for words. :rofl:

at the same time to "just the country bumpkin????". Sure. Whatever!!!. I am so used to bullshit you can try it on me and I will easily laugh or cry. No bid deal. Every-time I open my eyes there is water coming out one way or another. I used to think deep emotion was a rarity. Now it is just a bubbling brook.

Whatever!!

Same time accept a "victim/patsy". My liberal arts degree is just so fuzzy with all the information..I cannot think..! My gosh all history was making a clear line behind the neocons and now it just seems they were a victim a circumstances and sociopaths.

Up is down, in is out, angry is Democrat, placid and kind is Repuke, the moon shines and the sun reflects. Bring it on!.

CNNNNNNNn tells me that 7 year olds are gymnasts and can work through pain. Hell - I'm in my forties. You should see the shit I can put up with!! After the last 5 years.. I can bend with anything. And I still have a spine. Rove is not a patsy.

Rove confirmed Plame was a CIA. Two seconds later he emails "security personnel" and tell them he "ducked the bait" and told them "nothing". One second Rove is one thing. The next he is another. Whatever. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I will always laugh. Patterns will put the freak into jail, or a category, or whatever. Humanity's not as stupid as it has been represented in the last few years. Only the USA is.

Bring em on - the historians. The prosecutors. Bring on the intellectual elite of American (and the world) and make the first Utopians America has ever seen weep. Utopians always do. They are stupid. Their plans never work.

Name one thing the neocons have come up with has ever worked? One thing! Now i'm an old dog..so you may have to be slow. But what one thing they did has ever mattered or worked? NOTHING!!

5. Okay - a little more...
The proposition in the story is that Rove's well-known penchant for vengance and his desire to discredit Wilson may have played into Cheney's hands because the real (hidden) motivation for outing Plame was to stop her work WMD proliferation investigations to which it's alleged Cheney may have had some embarrassing commerical ties.

The source of Plame's identity is conjectured to have come from the Veep's office and the speculation is that Rove may never have really understood or known the full implications of what outing Plame really meant - he was after Wilson.

Interestingly, Cheney's out of the picture incommunicado while all this stuff breaks. Cheney was not on the Africa-bound Airforce one when the CIA memo was being flashed around by Powell to Bush, Ari and Condi, implicating them in the scandal now unfolding.

-- I know this is stretching it, but it's such a great finalé, I wish I'd thought of the movie script....

If the source of the leak and criminal indictments go to Rove and Bush --

bada-bing-bada-boom - Hello President Cheney!!!

is Rumsfield. These dogs have been going around the block for decades. Cheney was with Nixon. Rumsfield with - jesus christ -Rumsfield was in policy at the time of Vietnam!!

These are not stupid people. You do not get to be the head of the "young republicans for manipulating the end of the century" as Rove did in the 1970s if you are not smart. And on top of your game.

I'm closing in of fifty. I *ing float in water at this point. Kill me and I do better than the average fish. It happens. I'm not stupid and Rove is never anyone's patsy.

Rove is someone who - unlike a human being - couldn't take retirement and play with the grandkids and open a library. Rove doesn't have that "detach" in his soul. If he plays the victim here..it is because he - as the nefarious human he is - needs to be alive and active and in control of the "new conservative trend" in America. He means nothing to himself if he is without power. Forget jail, Rove without active power is a battery turning in on itself with acid every single day. His self-esteem is just not longer lasting than 24 hours. Bush could quit tomorrow and think he is a big man for 40 years. 1) because he is dumb 2) because he is a humanoid..though a very faulty one. Rove: no. Rove without power is nothing. It is like Saddam Hussein without power. Or Hitler without power. What's the point. You go to sleep and you wake up and if your greatnessess is not immediately reflected that morn...he feels empty.

We can all imagine Ken Lay retiring with a pardon. Or Bush retiring with a "somewhat discussed presidency & some discussion as to the history books". But Rove? No - baby - if that puppy does not have as much control as he has ever has and that puppy is not alive. This is why he is suddenly a victim. Because he has to be able to rise to exactly his position before..as soon as they shoot him down. He wants to be around for the next "administration" and the next "election". He has nothing else. You and I will eat dog-food if it gets bad enough and have full lives. Rove: he is only as great as his assistant can make him feel by 9:00 AM. I like my coffee: plain and alone. He is not capable of such great feats. He has no episodic ego. Me - I'm still on my knees about what happened way back then. And coffee feels really good. Nothing Rove eats or drinks or feels ever measures up to my quiet little life. He needs explosions every single day.

Or he is empty!

yeah - I bet he feels like a victim. Someone, a prosecutor, is tearing his only playhouse down. And it feels to him like it would to you if you were 4. Nothing possible could come after this. This is the end. You grew. Rove did not. So yeah - he plays the big victim here. He doesn't exist for anything else but the heights he has lived in the last few pathetic years.

7. Not a coincidence, but not necessarily bad news either
The Plame affair is related to the DSM. I think once indictments come down the DSM will get additional scrutiny. Plus, Conyers is not done with his investigation yet and he has been dogged in the face of a lot of opposition.

rove...fresh & innocent as a spring lamb :shrug: the fix is in, which ever way it cuts, rove imo has no ready access to 'plausible deni-ability' his fingerprints being all over every dirty trick in the book with contemporaneous footnotes dedicated to him alone for which he is proud
