10. It was the dude whose family members were allowed to leave the US on 9*12
or 9*13 - when other flights were suspended - special clearance to leave the US after their countrymen attacked us. Good friends of the bush family, I think.

landon, luden....someting like that

(it was family members wasn't it?)

4. I was a New Yorker opening her mail in rubber gloves
After a woman died uptown. After problems at major news networks.

No resolution, no explanation. Ordinary New Yorkers, people like me, thrown into fits of paranoia and glove-wearing thanks to these sick propagandists.

5. You know, it's a little slow going
After they realized that all of the targets were critics of BushCo, the investigators were a little afraid of actually solving it.

Interesting, isn't it, that they were never repeated? One would assume that a serial killer or publicity hound or any other "profiled" style assailant would have done it again, since he wasn't caught the first time.

15. The anthrax attacks were unleashed
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 01:36 AM by LibDemAlways
shortly after 9/11 and aimed squarely at Democrats (Daschle, Leahy) and the corporate "news" media - plus one tabloid that had printed unflattering photos of the chimp's offspring. The attacks certainly ratcheted up the fear as postal workers and ordinary citizens died.

I think the purpose of the anthrax attacks was twofold and became evident after it was determined the anthrax was from a domestic source. (1) Serve notice to Dems in Congress and to the media that the BFEE plays hardball so it's best to go along with the program; and (2) keep ordinary Americans afraid and not willing to question the BFEE's tactics as they launched their "war" on terror. I think they succeeded on both counts.

16. Wonderfully!
The public was scared, liberal democrats who were the target were intimidated, a bystander has had his career ruined, and the real perpetrators were never fingered.

Another successful covert operation.

18. a month before the first reported outbreak-
Why did the White House go on Cipro Beginning September 11th?
Were they psychic, or did they know?

Nearly a month before the first reported outbreak, White House officials start taking the powerful antibiotic Cipro to treat anthrax. By the end of the year it will be known that the Ames strain of anthrax used in the attacks against Sens. Leahy and Daschle was produced by CIA programs coordinated through Fort Detrick, the Batelle Memorial Institute and the Dugway Proving Ground.

FBI & BUSH ADMINISTRATION SUED OVER ANTHRAX DOCUMENTS

Judicial Watch Wants to Know Why White House Went on Cipro Beginning September 11th

What Was Known and When?
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that it has filed lawsuits against the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), the Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”), the Center for Disease Control (“CDC”), the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (“USAMRIID”) and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) for those agencies’ failures to produce documents concerning the terrorist anthrax attacks of October 2001, under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”).

24. Anthrax...
Since there are only a few sources of anthrax in this country and they are all controlled by the gov't, I would think they would have this wrapped up by now. Of course, if "Al Qaeda" mail terrorists turned out to be BushCo/Aramco/Haliburton stooges people might start looking at 9/11 a little harder.

25. You would think so...
Especially since they know the Army base that the strain came from. And the fact that there are only 4 people who know how to make this type of weaponized Anthrax.

27. I know you asked the question ironically but let's pose it again
Seriously. And I do mean seriously. Why has this been totally dropped by everyone - the White House, the media, everyone? What is the ongoing investigation? Was Valerie Plame by any chance involved in that investigation? Why would the anthrax terrorist(s) stop with just the single flurry of attacks? Why were Democrats and the media the primary focus of those attacks?

Isn't this just a huge, gigantic incident that we have all dropped in the confusion of war? I always saw the Stephen Hatfill character as being the convenient fall-guy a la Richard Jewel. They certainly ruined his life as a person of interest without ever indicting him. Who is protecting us from future anthrax attacks? I want a response and an update NOW!

29. Here's the latest:
http://www.anthraxinvestigation.com/#events

"According to Debra Weierman, an FBI field office spokesperson in Washington, in October of 2004, there were 31 Special Agents of the FBI, 13 Postal Inspectors, 1 U.S. Attorney and a scattering of support personnel working full time on the anthrax investigation (and that does not include lab technicians).

"This is the type of case the likes of which we've never had," Weierman said when asked why, three years later, the case remains unsolved. "Make no mistake, it is being intensely investigated.""

Can't vouch for whoever is running this anthraxinvestigation.com, but the site does seem to have the most recent info on it.

33. And of course there is this...
Larry Klayman, chairman of Judicial Watch, said administration officials said last fall that some White House staff members had begun taking the antibiotic Cipro on Sept. 11, weeks before the anthrax attacks were made public.

"We believe that the White House knew or had reason to know that an anthrax attack was imminent or underway," Klayman said. "We want to know what the government knew and when they knew it."

34. Ok, it's now 3 years later after they have filed their FIA request
And . . . ? What good is it to have laws on the books if they won't comply? I guess they didn't find it necessary to pass the word to Brokaw or Dashle or anyone else. Wouldn't want to alarm us.

On a similar but unrelated topic, why is the US not stockpiling the same kind of bird-flu drugs everyone in the rest of the world is?

I see it as another failure to protect the public at large.
