Nate Clay --- a Daniel Pipes fan
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 01:44 AM by eablair3
I've never listened to Nate Clay before, but saw the link at the top of the DU forums. Figured I'd check him out.

This guy actually agrees with Daniel Pipes. He thinks what is happening (eg the London bombing) is an ideological and cultural war, seemingly mostly the fault of Muslims. He actually is praisng Daniel Pipes.

It's amazing who they will put on the broadcast air and try to pass off with the label of "left" and "progressive." I've only listened to the guy for a little while tonight, but he doesn't sound like he's a "progressive left" voice as he claims. So far, he sounds like sort of a nut.

I guess I'll reserve judgment for now (seeing as how I've only listened to him for about an hour), but has anyone listened to this guy a little more and care to offer any insight?

1. NeoCon Daniel Pipes supported the invasion of Iraq
Then, about six months into the occupation in 2003, Pipes called for withdrawal of American troops on the O'Reilly show. I don't follow Pipes because I think he's a freak. Any talk show host supporting Daniel Pipes would be dismissed by my radio listening schedule. I'd rather listen to Bernie Ward or Mike Malloy.

3. Daniel Pipes is a lizard
So many alien lizards to expose, yet so little time.

2. Generally agree with Nate,
but have heard him veer off into wing-nut territory. Same thing with Alex Jones... not that Clay and Jones are equivalent.

I suggest you call or write your opinion.

4. I sure hope he works his way through this

He's now challenging and admonishing this right wing caller to be more critical of the administration and to get off the "partisan nonsense". As you probably are hearing now, he's not a supporter of the war. Sounds like he's got some things to sort through.

Why not send him an email to set him straight.

6. had to tune him out
I just couldn't listen anymore. The Pipes thing was just over the top. Then, he started in on the Palestinians. I wondered for a moment if he was in the Likud.

In any case, he was getting boring to me, and my patience wore out. I thought writing an e-mail to the guy would just be a waste of time. I didn't think I was learning anything or hearing anything interesting or worth listening to, so I tuned him out in favor of an archive of Friday's Randi Rhodes, who I haven't heard for a while. I just heard Conyers on her show now. Maybe I'll try an archive of the Majority Report, too.

I like Mike Malloy and Thom Hartmann the best. I used to like to listen to Peter Werbe, but haven't heard him in a while.

5. He gets some great callers though.
The Atlanta callers who are moderates and Lefties are on the ball aren't they?

7. Daniel Pipes
has no sense of decency. He was behind the failed and quixotic attempt to fire two Arab-American professors at Columbia. A few years ago, he had a row with Ibn Hussein, an Arab-American TV commentator, attacking him personally in articles, calling him immoral, corrupt, a sexual deviant, fat and other sordid things. He was instrumental in driving the guy off the air.

Funny thing about the guy is - despite his unswerving, rabid support for Israel - he will not admit he's jewish.
