4. Newsweek too,,,
The sleeping public is surely going to find out who Karl Rove is after all this....His reputation precedes him, so that may be a good thing.

10. i hope
the accompanying articles mention all the dirty tricks he's done since college - like the flyers to the homeless shelter that tricked them into showing up at a rival candidate's rally.....

5. Great.
I hope that DUers are enjoying the process involved here. Yes, we all anticipate indictments and convictions. But enjoy this, folks. We are witness to history, and more: each DUer who authors a LTTE and/or a letter to a congressional leader is a participant in this most important chapter of American history.

12. "OK, now move a little to your right, Karl..."
If they'd positioned him a little more squarely under the M in TIME, he'd look like he had horns.

no doubt about it, Rove's image in any context getting this much exposure is bad news for Bush. :bounce:

15. Look again - this is different
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 09:19 AM by zippy890
Rove is NOT someone who wants to be on the front page of TIME with the huge caption ROVE: ON THE SPOT

He is the underbelly of the beast, the dirty-tricks side - the WH would like to keep him in the background.

Ann Coulter on the other hand has the primary pupose of being on the front page of magazines - she's been designed for that.

Keep in mind this is the sum total of what a large percentage of americans do for news - look at the front page (of a newspaper, magazine) and read the headline.

No, this is not good for bushco, not good at all. The dirty side in the spotlight - they made a big mistake putting Rove in a position in the whitehouse - he's front & center now, and his credibility is ruined with the press.

edited for spelling

17. We can only hope...
Rove has a history of attacking at the strong points.

His perceived success in the fraud laced election of
2004 may have made him careless and feeling invulnerable.

That happens often when false attributions are made. It
wasn't Rove's skill which turned the election. It was a
series of disjointed corrupt activities. He may be relying
on a level of finesse he doesn't possess to pull himself from
this tar pit he's stuck in.

Thanks for your optimism. It really does mean much to me.

:)

16. Finally, I'll Believe A Drip, Drip, Drip Post...
...especially if it's mine

This is now becoming a parlor game. People tuned in last week to this Summer who-dunnit. OK...who leaked the secret agent? (Cue the Johnny Rivers song - Devo version). In the dead of the summer, this has become the "next big thing". We're not used to it, since most of these stories in the past have been against us (Monica, Condit), now there's one that's all GOOP and we're starting to see this thing really grow some legs.

When a story like this makes the cover of the Newsrags, it's "the next big thing". Or the story they think will be the buzz of the coming week...the thing that will make you pick up a copy on a Tuesday or Wednesday and actually read it (or buy it).

They also know there's more coming on this story...and nothing like a good set-up. This soap opera has opened...featuring names that many people never knew before...Wilson, Plame, Miller...even Rove. Soon that story will add more characters and plots. This is what drip, drip, drip is all about. And in a town that's been itchy to leak for the past 5 years, we've got quite a resevoir to draw from.

Cheers...
