French card deck names US leaders as "most dangerous"
Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 04:12 PM by Skinner
The game takes a jab at the famous deck of cards created for U.S. soldiers hunting down ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and other leaders from the deposed regime.

"I found it completely indecent to present a manhunt as a game," said Thierry Meyssan, the man behind the French deck. "We thought this card game would allow us to ... explain why we consider the government of George Bush a threat to international security."

Meyssan is the author of a one-time French best seller, "9-11: The Big Lie," claiming that no plane ever crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, and that the attacks were plotted by a faction within the U.S. military.

Now, Meyssan said in a telephone interview, he wants to expose "the 52 most dangerous American officials."

What does everyone think? I think the French are once again a step ahead of 69% of the American people. I'm going to order those cards as soon as they are translated into English.

I'll bet the Freepers are fuming!

1. Osama is also
one of America's most dangerous criminals, according to the deck.

He's a Joker.

5. No one should object to Osama
No one outside the U.S, that is. It's a deck composed from an entirely different perspective. To the outside world, Osama and Bush are competitors and their fight with each other is threatening world stability. To the outside world, the Bush Administration and Osama are just as much to blame for these uncertain times.

2. any idea
where I can get a set? I love how the Bush caption is so matter-of-factly stated.

I noticed none of the reports say exactly where on the internet they're available, probably intentionally.

4. I don't know any better than you.
I just clicked the link on my Compuserve startup screen. It was probably linked to that article to bait the French again.

I like the idea though and applaud Meyssan.

8. does not compute
you applaud Meyssan, who postulates that there was no plane slamming into the Pentagon.

On another thread, you express your sympathy for Donald Rumsfeld, who you feel is led astray by the neocons, and not uh, actually one of the more dangerous ones.

DOES NOT COMPUTE.
USER ERROR!
ABORT/RETRY/IGNORE?

9. Puh-leeze.
It was Wolfowitz, not Rumsfeld, who pushed for war against IRaq just hours after 9/11. Rumsfeld is Wolfowitz's senile yes-man.

Yes, I applaud Meyssan. For all I know there was no plane slamming into the Pentagon.

wrong. Rumsfeld fired off a memo doubleplusquick demanding a way to link it to Iraq.

I'd like to hear more of your charming theory that Rumsfeld is a puppet. He's not senile, and he's no yes-man. He's a dangerous lunatic with a huge personal fortune, nothing to lose, and an enormous sense of entitlement.

7. hmmm, I dunno
I think his book is bullshit and maybe borderline disinformation. Plus how many other decks have already come out with the same premise? I'd rather support them than this guy.

Who am I kidding? I'm just jealous and wish someone printed MY cards (snicker):

13. Meyssan is completely rejected in France
ALL the French media, policians... judged his book absolutely silly. But, that true, he made much money with.

For him 9/11 is good cheat sheet.
