To whom it may concern:
Yes, I realize that you feel as though you've been attacked now that one of your own is looking at jail time for refusing to give up her source.Yes, this is a development that disturbs those of us who truly support the First Amendment.
We understand that confidential sources can be as important to the Press as they can be to the police.
On the other hand...your remarkable silence in the face of almost overwhelming corruption on the part of the Republicans currently in power made such a move on the part of true justice seekers nearly inevitable.
You stopped doing your job. It has been left up to bloggers and on-line discussion groups to disseminate the news you haven't seen fit to cover.
When you, the press, become complacent and complicit in crimes against America, you lose your privileges. When your anchors and reporters become just another part of the Republican spin machine, you cease to be members of the free press and become just another voice in the wind.
The reporters in question become accomplices in the commission of a High Crime against the American people, an act that jeopardized our security and placed thousands of our young men and women in harm's way in furtherance of a lie.
I would say "shame on you," but it's become clear ever since the Iraq war began that you have no shame.
So shame on us, the American people, for allowing you to fool us for so long.
Never again.

I posted it to my blog. It was never really intended to be a LTTE. They'd NEVER print it. I'd be afraid it would make the local paper never print another one of my letters.
That would be bad.

May I add...the compromised position the corporate media has put itself in and now serves as an enabler for those who are attempting to justify and marginalize torture (Gitmo) and now treason.
Miller isn't protecting a source as in a Mark Felt...whose information assisted in advancing an investigation. Miller is protecting a source to IMPEDE an investigation. She's not a hero, she's an active participant in a possible criminal enterprise that exposed an active CIA agent. What more need be said?

The media in this Miller affair has forfeited it's credibility. She was not "reporting" she was "Colluding" with the Administration. So was Novak. Yet I have yet to hear any of the lamestream media condemn their actions!

6. Lies And Spin Run Around The World... |

Before the truth puts on its pants.
Give it time, the vast amount of crap this regime has piled up is about to come cascading down upon their pointed littled heads.
The corporate media is on trial here as well. If she goes down as part of a conspiracy, those who supported her will remembered as well.
A day of reckoning is at hand and there's a lot of people who are brownstaining as the bill collector is about to come knockin'.

can. It is a great letter. I just might use some points from it for my own LTTE, especially the part about 'your remarkable silence in the face of almost overwhelming corruption on the part of the Republicans currently in power made such a move on the part of justice seekers nearly inevitable.' Perhaps that is why the WH press corps has seemed to be growing a set and waking up from a long slumber this week, perhaps at long last they are realizing that they have contributed to this sad state of affairs we all find ourselves in. Send the letter, it's great, and just in case they thought they'd go back to sleep, this might keep them awake.
