That's her affectionate nickname for Howard Dean.

Dontcha just love it. Is that a well known nickname for him? Have you heard any others?

1. I see HoDe used a lot on Web boards,
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 10:46 AM by mark0rama
but often by those on the right. So I take it as neutral, neither affectionate nor derogatory.

4. Is it HoDe or HoDo? She said it like Soho or (ugh) J-Lo, sort of rythmic
and catchy sounding.

BTW, she is huge Dean fan, and feels that he is someone who can resonate with her generation. MKJ

5. Wouldn't his last name have to start with "Do-"
for HoDo to work?

6. HoDe is what I've seen, but I like HoDo too
It reminds me of calling Howard Johnson's "HoJo's," which must be where it came from.

2. good question
I like Podesta, but he stutters so badly! Russert does that on purpose.
He can't stand to let the Dems have a decent spokesman on.

(love the Dean nickname!)

3. Who the fuck do you think you're kidding? Podesta was excellent.

He wiped the floor with Kenny Boy Mailman.

7. I loved it when he laughed out loud at mehlman's attempt to explain
why he would say Fitzgerald was an excellent prosecutor, yet would not agree to support indictments, if those are the final results of the investigation.

Podesta had a plum assignment today, though. All he had to do was use the WH's own words against it. A thing of beauty. MKJ

8. I said I loved him didn't I?
Russert hardly let Podesta talk and yet he still wiped the floor with Mehlman.

I'm responding to the thread--why not Dean? Why didn't Tim put a Pukkke spokesman on who also stutters? There's always something!

Mehlman had nothing, repeated discredited lies, and wound up looking like a fool. Would have been better with Dean. Russert is a wimp.

11. It would have been fan-f***ing-tastic with Dean.
However, I'm wondering if the strategy was...why use a cannon to kill a mosquito?

Podesta was fine, however, as I said earlier, he just had to sit back and supply enough rope to mehlman to let him hang himself. And then point out the obvious.

Dean comes across well when the interviewer or guest is in fighting mode and Dean is having to respond from a defensive position.

Today, Dean might have been overkill, IMHO. MKJ

14. The best part was watching Kenny talk about...
Dems calling for Rove to be fired, Rove to lose his security clearance, etc, etc, etc, then saying he couldn't imagine the repugs doing anything like this. Podesta just very calmly said something along the line of, well you must have slept through the 90's.

12. Mehlman is really a weirdo
I suppose if you are really really ignorant, you could possibly find the guy credible.
He's just plain creepy. Used car salesman?

13. On the Daily Show,
Mehlman practically giggled himself to death. He was all over the coach. Very wierd for anyone, much less a party chair.

16. Something was posted yesterday that Mehlman was a second string hack.
I'd say SECOND STRING fits him perfectly!

17. The British have learned that Mehlman was an aide to Karl Rove.
I guess JimmyJeff has loose lips, despite his night job as a whore.
