Are the Bushes using Rove as the fall guy?
By making Rove take the fall for his own stuff?

One thing I suspect is that, Jr. will skate away from this by using the excuse of being too stupid to have known what was going on. Americans would rather secret accept a truth and publically accept the cover story rather than see themselves tarninshed by their own president yet again.

Is this part of the rats jumping ship?

2. This is too big a mess to wipe up with Rove's carcass alone,
no matter how fat he is...

5. I Honestly Don't Think So
Rove and Bush Jr. are one in the same. Bush could no more rid himself of Rove than he could live without a heart. I do not see Bush Jr. as really part of the Bush empire. He has always been outside, held off by his father who made sure he only got crumbs. It was Rove that took Bush out from under the thumb of his father. I have little doubt that Bush Jr. would do more to protect Rove than he would his own father, certainly more likely than to protect either of his brothers. Wife and daughters stay out of the argument.

15. I think so too
I have thought about that but then I remember how important Rove is to Bush. If Bush abandons Rove I'm sure Rove has tons of stuff he could bring Bush down with. In watching that PBS documentary it showed that Rove chose Bush to help with his political ambitions. He's using Bush to change the political landscape in this country. So I do think if Rove was threatned with jail time he would bring down Bush in a heartbeat to save himself.

,...but, these guys take care of their own criminal cabal.

They may arrange a nice consultant position out of the country in exchange for his resigning to spend more time with family. But, they're not going to enemy-ize this man,...no way.

7. Try this scenario:
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 05:05 PM by icymist
The administration wants a war with Iraq, regardless of who attacked us. They are fixing the intelligence to make it so. Wilson finds out about it and writes an editorial about intelligence that he knows is faked. To shut Wilson and whoever else might speak up, Cheney and Scooter Libby tell Rove to go ahead and reveal that Wilson's wife works for the CIA, not that she's an undercover operative. Rove contacts the media. Now the focus is on Rove while Cheney and Scooter slowly slink away. Of course 'pretzel boy' is going to stand by his man, being that he's too dim to realize how he was set up.

Don't that sound like how these guys operate?

9. Rove is the Architect. He leads all political action in the WH. Why
are we suddenly jumping on a wagon that says "Rove was small".

Someone had to give him the information and he got the job done. Why else did Bush promote him? I remember a few days after the election Bush promoted Rove to deputy Chief of Staff. Rove is supposed to be just a political advisor, why would a political advisor get promoted in a position like that if all he does is give advice and all that? I thought that was very strange. Someone had to give Rove the information who had that kind of clearance. Remember that Cheney was going over to the CIA a LOT.

11. No, it goes higher..
remember Dumbya & Dick hired attorneys. If it was Rove's turn to face the music they certainly drew attention to themselves by doing this.

of Colin Powell having a file on Wilson on Air Force One, I have wondered if at some point they won't desperately try to pin it all on him.

14. Well, Let's See...
Rove wants GHWB's entire campaign fundraising, bulk-mailing contract.

Doesn't get it.

Defames his rival.

Gets fired.

Wreaks retribution with the Christian Right.

Which fails to support GHWB's second term re-election campaign.

They vote for Pat Robertson, instead.

GHWB loses to Bill Clinton.

.......... Yeah, it just could be, you know?
