BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Journalist Robert Novak's status as a CNN contributor will remain unaffected during a federal probe into the revelation of a CIA officer's identity, executives at the news channel said Sunday.

"I think we're all aware that no one really knows what's going on in the investigation of the Valerie Plame incident," said Jonathan Klein, president of CNN/U.S. "So it would be awfully presumptuous of us to take steps against a guy in his career based on second, third, fourth-hand reporting."

Klein praised Novak as "one of the most outstanding political reporters this country has ever known."

A call to Novak's Washington office seeking comment Sunday was not immediately returned.

1. Gee, how come Novak didn't write an article about his testimony? And Rove?
He is a punk ass--he's willing to spill the beans about everyone else, but when he is called in to testify for a grand jury, all of a sudden he's as quiet as a mouse.

Punk.

2. Spill the beans?
Why he's even willing to cook the beans before he spills them.

6. And who said Klein didn't have a sense of humor?
Novak's "one of the most outstanding political reporters this country has ever known?" Ya mean in the tradition of William Randolph Hearst who ginned up the Spanish American war?

Simply editorial license. Klein really meant, "one of the most craven sleazoid cowardly lying hacks" this country has ever known. LOL

Really enhancing CNN's "credibility" there, Mr. Klein.

8. "based on second, third, fourth-hand reporting." WTF ???!!!

Ummm, EXCUSE me, but Novak is the ONLY reporter who did the FIRST hand reporting and outted Plame.

If they need to know anything more they can just go ask their employee because he the man at the center of it all as far as reporters go.

Just incredible the amount of bullshit.

These people are beyond the pale.
