They also heard the Comptroller General's testimony regarding the Government Accountability Office's analysis of the Department of Defense's 2005 selection process and recommendation for base closures and realignments. They also heard testimony regarding the Report to the President and Members of Congress by the Commission on Review of Overseas Military Facility Structure of the United States (The Overseas Basing Commission).

There will also be consideration of proposed policies, recognition of outgoing governors. The 2005-2006 NGA chairmanship will pass to Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR), who will make remarks.
