Sure enough, right on Washington Journal...there's a Repugnican caller begging the host to put up a picture of Mandy Grunwald (he called her "Mad Dog Mandy) and how she was both Cooper's wife and Hillary Clinton's former press secretary.

Yes, we know, we know. But I saw this meme working through the threads in Freeperland and other wingnut sites last night...sorta tuning things up, and there's the call, right on time this morning.

Be prepared for a day of trashing Cooper and Greenwald...this is really a Clennis afterall!!!

And Rove is cleared...move on :sarcasm:

1. They are desperate

The danger for the Repukes now is the "media".

They have had them cowered for years now but these attacks just might awaken them. Just a few to start and then safety in numbers as they start asking real questions. I sense a lot of pent up frustration in the press.

That's my hope.

3. A Media Civil War?

I don't think the ALL the corporate media is glad this story is blowing up. Some see this is an opportunity (Gregory, Moran, Roberts) to finally get some serious questions in at Snotty after years of being fluffed off and bypassed. Now they know they have the upper hand and it was fun watching them take out 5 years of frustration on little Snotty.

However, there are others in the corporate media who are just as compromised as Judy Miller, Novak and many others tied into this regime and story. They've regularly worked as conduits for the Rovian disinformation campaigns and surely knew/know a lot more about what's happening with the Plame situation than they're letting on (except when they have to testify or a federal investigator comes calling). They so desperatly want either Rove or this story to go away. Since they fear Rove more than the story at the present point, it's the story that has to go. When the balance shifts, then we'll see those who are attacking vs. those who are defending.

Rove did a superb job of compromising the corporate media and now he's pulling out all the stops to confuse, distort and just try to throw so much shit out there that people will get sick of hearing about this and tune out. I sure hope it doesn't work.

Up until now they have been toeing the line to keep their elite status as WH correspondents. All of a sudden the possibility of glory and a step up to major anchor status and really gbig money is motivating them to attack. Ah, human nature is a great thing when it works the way you want it to.

There's some real serious issues these people have with any woman who isn't barefoot and rushing to bring a beer from the fridge. The funny thing is how sheepish. Not the usual brash sounding young repugnican or the little old southern lady. This was the paranoid Freeper.

HELPING the WH to go after Wilson? Now that he has played his bit part, he's a target for their wrath? Just goes to show you, if you get in bed with the devil, eventually, you will pay.
