If the yellowcake evidence was solid, Rove wouldn't have had to leak |
|
in order to discredit Wilson. The evidence would have stood as being true. They only had to attack Wilson as lying to cover their lie. If they would have just stayed mum about it, and let it run its course, it would be just another lie we were talking about. It would not be an outed CIA officer, and a cover company that is totally blown.

2. Yep. But then again, when do they ever worry about true vs. false |
|
They always shoot the messenger.

6. The real messenger here was Rove |
|
Also, if he didn't know she was UC, he would have just used her name. He knew she was covert, and knew the law when he blabbed. I guarantee it was Miller he gave her name to, and didn't allow her to disclose the source. That is why, when she was on her way to the jail she said "the government is too powerful".

3. The weird thing is there was no point in pretending the yellowcake info |
|
was solid. They must have known that sooner or later they'd have to own up that there were no WMDs, no nuke program, no evidence of an immanent threat to US security.
They were incredibly stupid and lacking in discipline when they went after Wilson the way they did.

7. Yes, that was just one lie in the bundle of lies |
|
They should have just let it go.

Yep. Rove is the thinker. But in this case, they want us to believe he wasn't. It was just the last thing he said before he hung up. Oh, by the way, the wife is CIA and she sent him.

Once you tell a lie, it takes several more to protect it. Then several more to protect each of those, weaving an ever larger web of deception. That's what were witnessing. Lies upon lies upon lies.
