7. Ask Larry Johnson (former CIA) -- he thinks so
All this legal parsing about what "covert" means in this context is weasel-ly. Technicallly covert or not, this leak made her effectively lose her job. Sounds like Bolton and KKKarl are two peas in a pod ...

9. She Was if Fitzgerald Says She Was
And first a Judge agrees and then another Judge and maybe a Jury agrees.

How on earth could anyone think that the Prosecutor has not come to a conclusion about that basis of the case before proceeding with further investigation? Does anyone actually think Fitzgerald is that stupid?

10. Well lets see, HHHmmm, lets say I am a very high level Government
official.

Lets say I work directly with the President of the United States. Should I even be talking about CIA employees with journalists, I dont think so, and for many reasons.

Would I possibly divulge CIA techniques that would be rendered useless for future operations?

Would I possibly put lives in danger that may still be in foriegn countries that had contact with this person?

Could we still use ambassadors spouses as operatives in the future?

These are questions that you would think someone might ask themselves, before damaging national security.

Sorry, I do not believe for a minute Joe Sixpack is going to buy what they are selling.

Spin away, the damage is done, the gig is up!

13. Plame
This question to me is idiotic. If this guy is so smart (Rove) and he outs an agent that is not covert (at least believes so) what is the big deal? He should never out anyone if he does not know their status.
I have been reading so many different republican spin on this and hearing what Hannity and Limbaugh have said that it makes me wonder have I been transported to another country.
These people (Republicans)defending this action is absolutely abhorrent.
I was in a AOL chatroom (silly me) observing what was being said. It has gone from Wilson being a liar and that Wilson exposed Plame himself. It was a Democrat political hatchet job to Novak and Rove being patriots.
This whole mess is making me sick.

16. Yes, and
Abrams must not be aware that Karl Rove signed a non-disclosure agreement which he violated when he 'confirmed' Novak's information.

His comment to Cooper 'I've already said too much' and his other statement 'it will soon be de-classified' are pretty damning, imo.

There's also the fact that he apparently lied to the FBI when he told them he had not spoken to anyone about Valerie Plame. We now know that was a lie. Martha Stewart went to jail for lying to Federal agents.

As somenone else said, this was a case of a cover-up for the lies they told regarding WMDs. If they had ignored Joe Wilson's op/ed, they might not have been caught. But they needed to slam anyone who challenged them. Their stupid, immature need to attack anyone who doesn't see things their way, may be their downfall in the end.

15. Of course, if she were not then Fitzgerald would not have
proceeded with the investigation.

The investigation explains away that talking point.

17. The way Abrams covered this
really annoyed me. He read the law emphasizing the word "covert" and
basically stated there was no way the prosecutor would be able to prove that Rove knew Plame was a "covert" agent based on what has been reported so far and the way the law is written.
