We're asking the WRONG question...
Everyone is so caught up in parsing the letter of the law to determine if there has been a crime.

THAT'S NOT THE POINT.

The only critical question we should be asking is; "Did the actions of an individual or individuals cost us a national security asset (Brewster-Jennings & Associates)?"

If the answer is yes, a crime has definitely been committed.

So what happened to BJ&A?

I've written the MSM and told them they're basically getting caught up in silliness.

Please wake them up and get them asking the right questions.

We are LESS SAFE because of Rove, Novak, or Libby.

Period.

2. We're asking the right questions
The Republicans whose collective tit is caught in the wringer would like very much to confuse the issue with irrelevant minutiae. We would be wise to learn a lesson from the Swift Boat smear, which is to keep hammering home the basic point of an illegal leak.

The advantage we have over the Swifties, though, is that our allegations are true and have substantive impact on what's going on today. People are dying today because of the larger pattern of the corrupt Bush administration's duplicity in starting the war with Iraq, and the Plame leak was an important component of that duplicity.

3. Start by indicting these traitors; we fill jails with petty criminals !
If treason is punished from the top down (abu Graib/guantanamo/rendition w/o due process), the enlisted soldiers will use better role model behavior. Look how non-criminal the post Nixon administrations were. Periodic shake ups are necessary for a democracy to avoid fascists in giant corporations buying influence then taking the reigns of government. Local, state & federal levels can go rotten in a heart beat.

4. I think the right questions are:

Who forged the Niger Documents? (lots of info on this leading to a group in Italy that has connections to Karl Rove)

Why were the Niger Documents Forged? (Probably as part of the 'fixing of intelligence' referenced in DSM document.

Does this prove the assertion in DSM that intelligence was being fixed?

These are directly related to why Rove would bother outing Plame.
