Ed Schultz has a new messageboard if anyone's interested
http://edschultz.invisionzone.com/index.php?act=idx

Not to mention that it looks like his whole site has been upgraded. From what he was saying today, he has new owners (don't know what that means) and they are spiffing things up some.

www.wegoted.com

He also said something about their show coming up on 100 affiliates. Not too bad, is that? How is AAR doing?

8. I get the feeling it hasn't been around very long
They're still trying to iron out the trolls. But since he mentioned it today, it's already grown quite a bit.

Looks like he'll try to blog there as well. Could be interesting.

3. Ed is on 1300 a.m. in New Haven, CT
That station also plays a lot from Air America.
Silly me, I just found it last week. First time I ever heard any of AA.

4. I've listened to 1300 on web when 1200/1430 here in Boston has problems
It's nice to have choices.

7. sounds like 1300am is airing AAR and Jones Network
Schultz and Steph Miller are on Jones Network, Franken and Malloy, Seder/Garolfalo and others are AAR.

Our local 1360am (WCHL) splits the day with both JN and AAR during the day, AAR mostly at nite and replays on weekends.

happy listening.

5. He also said his interview with Joe Wilson would be on his web
site after his show today. It was a good interview. If yu have a chance to check it out, you should.

6. Big Eddie was great interviewing Wilson, Plame's husband.
I was traveling and I listened to the big guy. He asked very good questions and actually let Wilson talk.

I came to two conclusions: Big Ed can handle it and do not mess with this guy Wilson (good lard, he carries a grudge...and I love it).

13. .....new owners (don't know what that means)
This is from an email I got recently from Deomcracy Radio:

"After having launched the first and most successful progressive show in the country, The Ed Schultz Show, Democracy Radio sold the program last month. Ed's show was launched on January 5, 2004 on two stations - Langdon, North Dakota and Needles, California. And in only seventeen months, we grew the show to 95 stations and 8 of the top 10 markets.

In keeping with Democracy Radio's mission as an incubator of progressive programming, we had succeeded beyond our wildest dreams. We sold the show to two radio industry titans - Randy Michaels and Stu Krane. Randy is the former CEO of Clear Channel and Stu was instrumental in the success of Rush Limbaugh. The fact that two highly regarded radio executives were interested in purchasing Ed's show speaks volumes about the progress that has been made. For the first time in history, the radio industry truly recognizes the commercial viability of Progressive Talk."

14. Are those two good guys?
Are they more interested in the money than in the fact that Ed is liberal?

It bugs me some that they have such ties to the right wing.

17. I don't know if they're good guys or not.
Sounds like they don't work for Clear Channel or Limpballs anymore. I think they're just in it for the money; which is OK with me if it gets the message out to more people. Tom Athans, CEO of Democracy Radio, has worked his butt off for the last few years to get Dem Rad off the ground, so I don't think he would be willing to give up the progressive format of one of his shows. (he's Sen. Debbie Stabenow's husband.)

16. I sure wish they could have steered clear of clear channel
and anybody that has anything to do with Limbaugh. Unless they have seen the light. :scared:
