NRA cancels Columbus convention due to assault weapons ban

Wow...I'm all for gun-rights, but I mean seriously. It seems like they yield NOTHING on gun ownership or responsibility or anything. And, it seems like they're paranoid about absolutely nothing. The right to bear arms is in the constitution - it isn't like that can be changed easily. What gives, NRA DUers? Do you support this move or think it's silly?

1. I think the NRA is silly. As are "gun rights".

Hopefully, they'll all move to S.C. with the Jesus Jumpers and secede.

2. I own 4 rifles and one handgun

and find it arrogant that the NRA chose to move its show from an urban center who voted against assault weapons.

The NRA look like asses when they pull this type of elitism. No wonder W's father resigned his membership.
