2. He wants to give his opponents something else to be outraged about |
|
He's hoping we'll be so upset with his SC choice that we'll end up dropping the Rove/Plame controversy. Here's where we have to multi-task, folks.

4. He needs the fight of the century on a constant ongoing basis. |
|
It's the only way they can succeed - by dividing us.
Oh well, this Right Wing Freak will be welcomed by the other eight, I'm sure.

6. And it will be as successful as the political exploitation of Schiavo. |
|
I have no doubt he'll do it because the neoCONs believe in the "divide and conquer" approach to governance. However, I believe it will be as destructive to his popularity as the politically-inspired exploitation of the Schivao case.

7. That's been most everyone's thought......... |
|
on the situation. I happen to believe just the opposite. He needs a victory right now and he needs it badly. He needs to shed his image of the rabid, frothing ideologue and pick someone that's agreeable to both parties. It will still distract everyone from Rovegate, but it will also serve to cool the negative attention being piled upon hims of late. Of course, I'm always contrary to ordinary and would take the opposite side of any argument just to stir up trouble. ;)

11. Either Way, It Don't Mean Shit |
|
Could he stand for "The Nuclear Option" right now?
Will his choice of nominee have any effect on the forthcomming indictments from Fitzgerald? I thought not.
Its like an iceberg, and there is nothing Bush can do to stop it.

13. You're not a woman, are you? |

It does mean "shit." It means the end of women's control of their own reproductivity.

Will not be overturned by the Supreme Court. It won't happen in my lifetime (not so long) or your lifetime (probably longer), or our children's liftimes.

18. What about state limitations that keep whittling away at Roe v Wade... |
|
until there's nothing left of it? These limitations are debated up the line to the SC. Roe v. Wade doesn't HAVE to be overturned...they are slowly whittling away at it where, in 10 years, nothing will be left of Roe v. Wade but the case name.
