cnn headline: SHIFTING SPOTLIGHT
in other words, something other than the rove scandal will soon dominate the headlines. maybe the announcement of a supreme court nominee, maybe today, maybe new war plans, a new terror attack or meme, something, any damn thing to change the daily headlines.

more fucking with our heads coming right up.

1. What the media can handle only one story at a time?
How the mighty have fallen.

And that is just sad.

9. Maybe THIS will be the "something other than the Rove scandal"...
When I read the latest Crisis Papers article by Bernard Weiner

http://www.crisispapers.org/essays-w/horrors.htm

starting at about 3 a.m. today (I woke up and couldn't sleep so checked out DU where this article is the new lead on the LBN page), I began to hope that at last the inner layers of the onion are being spread open for all to see. I even followed the link in Weiner's article taking me back to a 2003 news piece in the Washington Post by Barton Gellman & Walter Pincus http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A39500-2003Aug9?language=printer
that was well worth the long read all by itself.

I'm always amazed when such significant stories are published and few if any media outlets pick up on them and explore what obviously needs to be explored, but I guess I should not be surprised.

Hey, better late than never, eh?

So, even though the WH will be trying -- and probably trying very hard -- to distract and misdirect the media and the public with some new event/story they hope will boot the Rove scandal off the front page before people far and wide realize we've got a Watergate-caliber situation unfolding, I'm hoping the MSM will do their job for a change and keep what's important front and center.

Reckon I'm dreaming to be thinking that way?...
