Bush* to 'use' Supreme Court nominee to divert attention from Rove.
Boy this is Bushco gov't at it's seediest. Using America's highest court to divert our attention from a criminal investigation into Karl Roves' world.

~snip~ An announcement would turn the spotlight in Washington toward the Supreme Court vacancy and away from news about Bush's top political adviser Karl Rove and the ongoing federal probe into who leaked the name of a CIA officer.
~snip~

Article actually says that Bush* accelerated his announcement.

1. That occurred to me this morning.
What better way to get Karl out of the news than to nominate someone really controversial, like Roy Moore. It wouldn't even matter if the candidate got confirmed or not, the important thing would be to bury the CIA leak story.

2. And a fat lot of good it'll do 'em...
Indictments are coming whether the public is paying attention or not, and you can bet they pay attention again at that point.

7. Considering any indictments are months away
Odds are it will die down even without a SCOTUS announcement.

But once the indictments come out, it'll make the current level of activity on the story seem like idle chatter in comparison.
