Bush could name nominee as early as today

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush is stepping up the pace in making his first nomination to the Supreme Court, and Republican strategists and conservative advocates say he may be focusing on a woman.

1. One or two days at most...
The Fitzgerald investigation is what's driving Plamegate...once the novelty of the SC nominee wears off...that investigation will still be there and the focus will return.

This may have more of an effect at blunting the rather pathetic RW counterattack on Wilson than on the story itself!

2. yes
Actually, it would serve as a great distraction from the Rove/Bolton/Libby/Cheney-Plame mess..

.. because the media would make it one. They only operate when Bush allows them to pull their heads out if his ass to let us see the shit.

3. it's sick but...
...this administration is doing nothing but playing games... life threatening, career ending, games. Now if I was shrub and I wanted to take press away from the Rove issue at large, I'd nominate a REAL bastard RW neo-con. This way it would be a huge fight in the house and senate and would effectively take any other arguments off the table until the SCOTUS decision was finalized.

These games they play are sick... I really don't understand how the American people can sit there and do nothing while they play them.

just my 2 cents....

5. Nope.

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - How ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists their cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."

Anyone know what happened to the DSM story?

7. No - someone WILL be nomintated...Rove is still a MAYBE
The SCOTUS thing will happen no matter what...we can fight that one in our sleep.

Remember - the Freepers will probably give BuchCO just as hard a time over the pick as we do...if not harder.

The Leak deal needs all/most of our attention...

I dont think we are at risk of spreading our attention too thin...yet.

8. At best it will only move the Rove thingy below the fold....
Unless, of course, Bush* nominates a real white wing fundy wacko, like say, James Dobson. LOL
