Denver Post: Tancredo Won't Back Down
"I simply throw that out there as something to think about, although it is horrendous to think about, I understand that," Tancredo said. "So is having one or more cities destroyed in the United States. And that's all I did."

Muslim leaders disagreed.

"When he makes such a statement he should have the courage to go back and apologize," said Rafaat Ludin, president of the Colorado Muslim Society, an organization that includes a mosque and represents 15,000 Muslims in the Denver area. "He is trying to provoke these terrorists who are making our lives miserable, here and across the world. How can you in your right mind call for something like that?"

Yes, how in your right mind, indeed?

1. The guy's fucking whacked.
I didn't previously buy claims that he was racist, but I'm now re-evaluating.

2. My brother is in CO, and made a comment supporting him...
This was several months ago. He liked his ideas about Illegal immigration. So I sent my bro a few links about mr Tankreto, he has since revised his opinion. A little knowledge is a wonderful thing. :)

6. That jumped right into my mind as I read the article.
I usually don't jump to that conclusion, as I've rarely met a REAL racist, but this guy - I'm wondering.

4. Being a republican = having a mental disorder.

It seems like everyday some republican in DC is making a complete ass of themselves. Republicans never admit when they are wrong, it's truly horrifying.

I can't imagine a democrat getting away with any of this shit. Would we just shrug our shoulders and ignore it or try to justify it? Are we the same as republicans when it comes to our own leaders?

5. Tancredo joins with those who apologized for U.S. genocides & war tactics
that reflect long discredited theory. That is the notion that our enemies are less than human, and like wild beasts can only be defeated by brutality, death and destruction. He fails to recognize the nature and motivations for terror perpetrators on both sides.
He, like past leaders perpetrating genocide on indigenous tribal cultures, on asian and on muslim people that somehow impede the U.S. corporatism and expansionism. The price we will pay for this "misunderstanding" cannot be ignored. Who will suffer the brunt of the "blow back" of Tancredo-think advocates, those unsuspecting victims of a cycle of hate and tit-for-tat. AND harboring xenophobic ideas is sociopathic, rendering one handicapped and depressed. Our culture and the modern worlds' STILL REWARD TRUTH, AND ACCURATE BELIEF SYSTEMS. just a thought

7. Yes, I'm reading about the First Crusade,
and Pope Urban II used that very tactic 1000 years ago.
