RW LTE in SeattleTimes-Rove only corrected a reporter!
What the heck? Rove only tried to correct a reporter? He never told the name of Plame, just that she was working with the CIA? Wow. My head hurts.

The Times' "Pushing a war, punishing dissent" is typical biased, liberal press attempting to make the news, not print the actual news. Their printed view contains a number of errors and another attempt to smear the president. What is wrong with printing the truth, just once.

Karl Rove broke no laws. He attempted to tell a Time magazine reporter that what he was writing was in error. Rove never told him the name of the CIA employee, only that the individual was employed by the CIA. At that time, he didn't even know the name of that person.

We now know that Joseph Wilson was a former ambassador and had been by his wife to go to Niger. Both she and her husband were, and still are, very liberal Democrats and would, and will, do anything and say anything, that will cause the president a problem.

Wilson either lied to or misled the CIA about Saddam Hussein attempting to obtain materials to be used in nuclear weapons. He claimed that this information was incorrect. He has been proven wrong by the British and Israeli governments. To paraphrase the editorial, one must not lose sight of the fact that the majority of The Times' readers are liberal Democrats, but that should not prevent The Times from printing nothing until it knows the facts.

8. They will never find out, they don't want to know
Anyone who wanted to know would already be aware of it.

At this point, anyone who believes anything that anyone associated with Bush says just wants to be lied to.

6. These whores will tell any lie, won't they?
Just to pick an obvious one: If Joseph Wilson was/still is a "very liberal Democrat" then why did he vote for Chimpy in 2000?

7. Are you surprised?
The writer is clearly a fairly typical right-winger who hasn't got two firm facts to rub together. Anyone here who's been following this story could blow this moran out of the water.

9. My answer to that is:
Okay, all of the above is true....thats a jump, but for basic premise let's assume it is.

Rove says to Novak "yeah I heard that too".

Well who else did he hear it from. He says he can't remember.

Now he's talking to Cooper and basically spills the beans. He is Matt Coopers first source, matt heard it from him first. So it wasn't a confirmation.

This guy is a complete liar, treasonous, war criminal.

12. So completely childish.
I would have a hard time believing this was written by a fully-functioning adult. It reads as though it were written by someone who listens to grown-ups talking, and the grown-ups they're listening to are idiots who only tune into Rush, et al.

It would be priceless to see the expression on the author's face if they were to find out that "liberal Democrat" Joe Wilson actually voted for George W. Bush in 2000!

14. I heard that
Wilson gave money to Bush/Cheney in 2000 cause he didn't like McCain.

But that he did in fact vote for al gore.

I say this just so you know. I heard Joe Wilson say this in one of his interviews.

I have a friend who's currently reading Joe Wilson's book, and this is the second thing she's got wrong in relating his words to me -- looks like I'll just have to read it myself! :)

16. If Wilson was wrong, why did Tenent resign over the Yellow Cake issue?
It's really as simple as that. If Wilson was wrong, and Hussein really did attempt to purchase yellow cake from Niger, why was it so embarrassing a screw up that Tenent retired because of it?

And by this logic, that Rove didn't say Plame's name, could I therefore say, "Laura Bush's husband is a lying douchebag!" and, obviously, not implicate anyone in falsehood or douchebaggery? I'm not calling anyone a lying douchebag, really, because I am not using their name.

Right?

19. Hope He Got His RNC Check
This doofus at least could put into four paragraphs...albeit written like a 12-year old, what the corporate media talking heads spend hours on saying. And, of course it's one major smear.

Gotta give this monkey his props...his brain is so fully kool-aided, he's reached the point of being able to edit his brainwashing now.

21. The law prohibits identifying an agent - not naming them
Information about a covert agent less precise than a name is still prohibited if it identifies that agent. The degree of information necessary to determine an identication is NOT that amount that would allow an ordinary American citizen or even a member of the press to pierce the cover of a covert agent. If it's enough information for a FOREIGN GOVERNMENT to determine that agent's identity, then it has become a prohibited identification. That is the purpose of the law. The law was enacted NOT to protect an agent's cover from the American people or the press, but to protect it from potentially hostile governments abroad. If a foreign government could determine that "Joseph Wilson's wife" was none other than Valerie Plame, then the actual mentioning of her name was not necessary. And the information that "Joseph Wilson's wife" is "working for the CIA" would be enough for a foreign government to piece together information that would enable them to pierce her cover as well as the cover of her entire network of contacts.

23. Full of lies, disinformation and errors

This is so pathetic its almost sad.

These people dont have a thread to cling to.

Wilson "has been proven wrong by the British and Israeli governments."

Sooo, where are these nuclear weapons? Is the Bush Admin hiding them?

The funniest part is calling Wilson a Democrat. Wilson was Bush Sr's ambassador to Iraq during the first gulf war, and he voted for both Bush's.

You might could argue that this poor sap is just a fool who has been mislead by a heroin addict on the radio.

But the part about Rove calling to stop an incorrect story.. if anyone is ignorant enough to actually believe that, then they just refuse to face reality.

People like this are going to end up having their whole political world shattered before its all said and done with.
