"the rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor"...
from Leonard Cohen's tune, "tower of song": lotta people who claim to be poor are not, they just waste their money on stuff like cable TV, which they get willingly, then turn around and blame "others" for their financial situation.
since that song was written we can include as "channels" the internet, video games, dvds, lots of other stuff.
All these things are extensions of the "main stream media" that gets such a rousing bashing on DU. If one jumps into the "stream" willingly, can one then legitimately bash the current?
