Limbaugh-Hannity - Wilson smear campaign-effective-YES-NO?
Limbaugh-Hannity-Laura Ingrams are doing their best to discredit Joe Wilson - do you think they're helping or hurting the White House credibility?

1. Only a wingnut could be "smeared" by the truth
Just like only a criminal could be "convicted" of a crime.

No intelligent person (Republican or Democrat) is.
I'm a nice guy, but Looney-liar Laura Ingrams I would smack up the side of the head and feel no remorse.

4. I think if they can switch the conversation to Joe Wilson
We won't do as well. I know many don't agree with me, but Wilson isn't the most defendable target, and, at any rate, they have tons of smoke screens in place to confuse the issue.

They haven't been as successful in defending their possibly criminal and definately immorral and stupid actions.

5. Consider the audience
As I have caught a lot of their shows recently (running errands and such) it is not only monotonous but actually spinning AGAINST the spin from the day (sometimes the hour) before.

I have noticed that a lot more of the libs/dems are getting on the air with them so I would guess that many of their faithful can't stomach this spin. Just a guess.

6. They are among
those who, at a variety of levels, are taking part in an organized effort to discredit Wilson. They are trying to get Americans to mistrust their friends, and to trust their enemies, as Malcolm X used to say. I think that people are aware of this. For many people, especially the democratic left, any time some "friend" says that Wilson is unreliable or a liar, a red flag goes off. They recognize this as the talking points of Limbaugh,Hannity, and Ingrams.

7. Rightwing radio is doing what it always does...
They're preaching to the choir. They're giving their "base" fodder for arguments, in an attempt to disseminate their "side" and win the PR war.

Although Limbaugh is a lying charlatan who uses selective information and a controlled format--he is a very effective con artist. He keeps the "propaganda catapulted" for Bush. This noise often keeps the truth from surfacing by clouding the issue.

These radio personalities aren't going to swing any liberals or moderates their way. However, they can create red-herring arguments that shift national arguments from the truth--to a load of hooey. That's what they want.

I think it's a mistake to not take on these liars. Most Dems do not comment on what rightwinghateradio says. Big mistake. You can discount them all you want. However, they reach millions of voters--and they're only powerful if left unchecked.

8. They're trying to take the initiative- to play offense.
They're horrible at defense.

If our representatives in the media have any sense at all, they won't even speak of Joe Wilson. People in the Bush Administration may be getting indictments soon. That's not PR bullshit. It's fact.

9. I think they waited to long to jump into the frey and this issue
is too confusing for their average listener,as such, I don't think they are very effectively making their point.

10. right wing effectivness
the polls show that a considerable number of other than democrats
are doubting the credibility of this administration...the screaming
that limbaugh and others obviously cannot quell the credibility gap that is constantly dropping.
