*Gasp* Why I NEV-UH in all mah years

In a photo provided by The White House, President Bush stands with members of the Northwestern University women's lacrosse team during Championship Day at the White House, Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in Washington. The photo shows four of the nine women in the front row wearing flip-flop sandals. The choice of footwear has prompted a mini-controversy, with family members and some other players insisting the summer footwear staple was too casual for a visit with the president. 4. LOL!
Good one! They also should have worn blue bracelets.

However, I must admit if I were to get my picture taken in the White House, I wouldn't dress so casually. I mean hell, even Gannon wore a tie.

6. The Prez wanted them barefoot, but there had to be a compromise...
Bush - "These netty sticks must be very hard to use in the water."
Aid - "Uh...sir...this is a field sport."
Bush - "Oh, well, perhaps we should get a couple of their horses in here to pose also."
Aid - "Sir...nevermind."

15. **Nothing** is too casual for a phony president.

Let's have a REAL president, then maybe he'll get the socks-and-shoes treatment.

On edit: They look terrific, and it's also 95 degrees in DC, with the usual high humidity. Hell, I'd wear flips myself.

27. it's not a story
that the media should cover, but frankly, if I was invited to the White House to meet the president, I'd wear a suit. As a basic rule, wear what you'd wear to a job interview, it's a sign of respect. even if you don't respect the man, respect the office and the history. These young women should have known better.

but in all, who cares?
